  • Well, currently I use Tumbleweed with just couple of tweaks, but I can't live without things like Yakuake, fish, yt-dlp and bunch of other console commands that are not present in most dostros' defaults. How does atomic distribution handle this? I believe flatpak only has gui applications...

// I just diacovered Yakuake is there, but I can't imagine how does this specific program integrate with system?

  • Same for me with Black Mesa. Native version has all sorts of graphical glitches while Proton looks as it should.

OTOH some games like Valheim runs very well native.

  • I wonder what happens with all the hardware that is not considered W11 ready when W10 goes EOL. And no, I don't think "switch to Linux" mantra is solution for everyone. It sure is possible for a lot of home users, but I mean mainly those thousands and thousands of office/corp/workstation PCs with SW that simply can't be moved to Linux. Is it simply going to be one huge middle finger from MS?

  • I used to buy one specific ramen noodle brand which had the best noodles ever. They were made from already spiced dough and were extra crunchy. Those were called "Mi Kim Chi" and I haven't seen them for a long time (EU).

  • Hardcore version would be to pour it into your eyes.

  • This one is very simple given how expensive those toy cars are...

  • It's weird, this way it would be subsonic ammunition. Maybe another shot? Still crazy as fuck though! Where in the world things like this happen?

  • Slavery is ok, because negroes are not people.

Holocaust is cool, because Jews are not people.

Killing children is fine, because Ukrainians* are not people.

    *everyone who's not Russian

  • Party's over!

  • That is terrible idea, it's even worse than my fun proposal of openSAUCE...

  • What? I'm not slim, neither fat, I'm about average dude, but I rarely ever find pants that aren't too long. Maybe it's EU thing, but nearly every time I put on regular pants I feel like a scuba diver with the excesive pants as "fins". Last pants I bought "short" version and I'd still need about inch shorter...

  • We're cooked...

    Jump
  • Well, if Trump wins he'll eventually get original SS to cover his ass...

  • Well, technically you can, but it's not going to be fun...

  • Well, technically yes, but why pay even a couple quids when I already have purchased the game on PC? Of course there's this "To support the dev!" but honestly... How much he's going to make from such a purchase after all?

This is why I find Steam Deck the most tempting handheld console, because it can play (almost) all the games I've purchased over last decade on both Steam and GOG. I'm no Nintendo fanboy so I can happily live without Mario or Zelda.

  • Exactly. Not only the games are still (even after many years) very expensive with not that much "steam sale" level of discounts or various humble/fanatical bundles, it's Nintendo's behavior that is the most off putting part in the equation.

  • Ha, I have no friends so couch co-op is out of the question... /s

  • I believe Joplin has latex math support, check it out.

  • I really do like the idea of switch and might be a potential buyer, but... as a long time PC user woth zero console experience I'll pass. I don't want to (re)buy games that seems to be quite overpriced on Nintendo. So if anything, I'd be buying Steam Deck.
