Yeah, I miss those times too. I've had two very good friends and we'be played together so much... plenty of games from Settlers 1, through Carmageddon and some FPS to real time strategies and lastly Heroes of Might and Magic 3 which we played A LOT. I still remember plenty of units stats to this day, lol.
I don't know, but it might be the time when I ran out of ideas of what to get for christmas. As a kid I always wanted something like cars, lego, sport stuff, bike, whatever came to my mind. I rarely got those things, but my mind was always in "I want that" mode. But growing up I realized I don't need most those things and also that my parents tried hard to get me at least something so I just "gave up" and asked for actually useful stuff (clothing, socks, etc).
Yep, I meant U series, which (at least where I live) were covering vast majority of the market. There was occasional HQ here and there, but not that often. AMDs offerings at the time were mediocre and nobody really used them so for me, that era basically overlaps with Intel U series hegemony when speaking about laptop cpus.
Which is fine be me. First the game receives constant updates to this day. Second they're asking reasonable price to start with. Third the amount of content...
