  • it's just my opinion, but I think because it's LTS and has a philosophy behind the OS that doesn't ring well with hardcore modding.

I kinda feel that Debian is sort of the "boomer OS" in the community; it just works, the way it works, it's the "easy route" (if it makes any sense). also, some people doesn't like APT or initd, I don't know what's up with nVidia drivers on Debian, or the support for any other super proprietary stuff.

you also don't always get the freshest of stuff with it.

I personally love Debian, but granted that I haven't tried out the whole Linux repertoire and I really don't need too exotic stuff in my life if it's about my main computer.

but to me, for developing, working, browsing the web, fuck around with documents, consuming media, networking etc etc., is more than perfect.

  • checking in from an european country; for petrol, we say "benzin" and for diesel we either call it just "dízel(olaj)" or "gázolaj" (olaj -> oil, so they translate roughly to diesel-oil or gas-oil)

for the fuel that gas operated cars use we have the "autógáz" word, which means... well, car-gas

  • Tachiyomi is a brilliant manga reader and tracker. Or you can get its fork, Aniyomi which has anime support and sources as well, not just manga.

  • Windows 95 with Bill Gates on Stage.

  • Debian + KDE Plasma if you want a working, stable operating system.

but only if you don't want to experiment, distro hop and god knows what arbitrary challenges to face and never be completely satisfied.

  • mostly less than five.

    but if I'm programming it's around 50-70

  • fuck I always mess this up, thanks 😆

Ducat as a name sounds even cooler

  • sci-fi name

James Tiberius (Kirk), Geordi (LaForge), Worf, Gul (Dukat), William (Reiker), Odo, Neelix

Duke (Nukem), Eli (Vance), Gordon (Freeman)

  • I had a Sony Ericsson W595i before my first smartphone (which was a Vodafone 845)

I loved Sony Ericssons, had a bunch of them, because they were extremely moddable through VKP patches. it ran Doom natively 😄

  • I understand that, but this reasoning as well don't really help on it at all. ruining something nice because "fuck you all" is just... I don't even know.

edit: I think Matrix could have been a great series, even with something main plot that the 4th one had. or a cartoon. I know lot of frenchise went downhill after taking this path, but it's something that would have fit nicely with Matrix.

  • they are fine. except the 4th. that should have been never existed.

I know lots of people hate the sequels, but they add to the story, it's another question they are... just action movies with a little bit of early 2000s cringe.

  • those machines were freaking black magic at the time for its price tag

  • I think I'd be more than fine with an Amiga

  • well there's Logo which is translated to many languages - e.g. Hungarian in Comenius Logo, so great chance you can instruct at max 4000 turtles on your screen.

also, Excel functions are too localized and using them feels somewhat surreal 😆

  • they should make Mario Kart open world and marry it with Need For Speed => Mario Kart Underground.

hey, Nintendo employee who use Lemmy and read this: push this up for the big bosses around you, because man, that would be a super epic game and a worthy sequel
