Anyway, reality is bad and we're living in it, so I have relatively little patience for people who complain about doomposting. There's a lot of doom out there.
If folks want to only see good news, start an "only good news" community (assuming this doesn't already exist) and just stick to your subscribed communities view.
They just put out a lot of mediocre products, mostly. Also they were hilariously rude to the creator of the MT3 profile (which is one of their signature accomplishments in the keyboard space)
Did Drop still own Geekhack? (In some ways Corsair acquiring Geehack would be the bigger story to me at least since Geekhack is one of the key places (especially excluding reddit) that interest checks and group buys are published.)
It's not a subscription, but I've bought a couple of the Fellow drops and enjoyed them. Lots of independent roasters that I like also offer subscriptions (in fact, I think almost all of them do) but I tend order from lots of different places.
It's going to be incredibly necessary in the long run. Decentralized means some proportion of important communities are going to be on servers that will eventually be shut down for various reasons. Not everybody who's running an instance now will run it forever, but there may be communities with important conversations that folks will want to preserve.
Mastodon has account migration and Lemmy community migration should work similarly.
You have to go out of your way to find keycaps that aren't MX-styled. But you may want to double check the layout and particularly the size of the spacebars, shifts, and the keys in the bottom row. Some gamer boards have nonstandard layouts.
Does it have to be calckey specifically? If not, ubiqueros is misskey and rage.love is hometown. Blacktwitter.io is running normal Mastodon I think. Fediverse party lists neovibe.app (Mastodon) as Black-run. Weirder.earth (Hometown) has strong antiracist moderation but I don't know the composition of the mod team offhand
I remember seeing a recently formed Black queer instance being posted about but I don't remember the name, and of course because it's Mastodon there's not really a way to search for it 🙄 but I'll see if I can find it edit got it: blackqueer.life, running Mastodon.
No disrespect to the blahaj admins at all (I'm on lemmy.blahaj.zone rigth now!) but safe spaces for queer folks aren't automatically safe spaces for non-white folks and there's a lot of historical pain and drama about that on the fediverse
I would definitely recommend binging James Hoffmann’s YouTube channel or getting his book on home coffee as he does a very good job of breaking things down in a way that is detailed but approachable. It’s a great jumping on point.
Pick one or two inexpensive brewing methods to try first and try coffees from different roasters and different origins and processes and roast levels to figure out what you like.
You don’t have to drink coffee black if you don’t want to, but it’s a good idea to at least try coffees black first (let them cool down a bit too) before you add milk. Light and medium roast coffees that are good quality and brewed well can be sweet and fruity with little bitterness and should taste good on their own. You may still end up preferring to take it with milk, though, and that’s fine!
Tech also involves corporate $$, “disruptive” (read: anti-worker) innovation, etc. the general skew of tech as an industry seems center-right to me plus lots of tech bros fully engaged (sometimes “ironically”) with the alt right.
At the local level, tech bros form natural partnerships with right wing interests around gentrification and policing.

It works well, but I've also had very good results with iced pourover methods as well as espresso based ones and using a South Indian filter as well. In the later cases, I usually just make a small iced latte with cold foam or else an aerocano
Some shoes are able to be resoled/rebuilt by a cobbler when they wear down, but they have a more complex/handcrafted construction which means their price tag is higher, and of course it's not free to have them resoled, so you don't automatically save money by going this route.
