  • Switch it up. even just tortilla chips and hummus or salsa too with plenty of water and you might even survive! Nuts are great too. Dense calories and nutrients, underrated.

  • If you don't like it there are always other options (if you like a lot about arch, Garuda or Manjaro would be my next suggestion) but I do think Pop is great for those adjusting to the new ecosystem from windows

  • Old meme

  • You absolutely should, sounds perfect for your use case. It's meant for gaming PCs, and as you're starting out don't be afraid to take advantage of the several different package managers out there (I think pop has one built-in but there are others like snap). Finding and installing programs via command line isn't as hard as you might think either and is usually more secure/ideal. If you need something more cutting edge and are willing to dive into stuff like that I've had great experiences with garuda and manjaro too. There are lots of FAQ's out there, and it can be really daunting at first but I promise it'll be rewarding somehow. I personally love all the different free software repositories and having apps like fortune run when I start my machine- there's something so cozy about configuring a PC to be a little fun and reflect your own personality a bit.

  • I was too poor for it to be a option personally, I'm still trying lol. Leaving a country isn't exactly a easy, straightforward thing.

  • Linux mint specifically is great for documents and browsing but other distros are gonna have better gaming presets is all I was saying. Imo, It's a "typing laptop" OS when you probably want Pop! Instead. That or the other ones I listed have extra drivers and whatnot by default. Just trying to be helpful!

  • Use proton and/or a distro actually meant for gaming (Linux mint is simplified, more for beginners imo and not one I'd personally recommend). Try Pop!, Manjaro or Garuda.

  • This is what you get for using fedora in 2023. I have no issues with garuda, lutris and proton: it's been at least a month since I've tried to play a game and failed. Which is alright imo- I don't wanna play any given game if it doesn't support Linux EAC in the first place

  • Instant upvote because KDE is stupid underrated

  • "communist"

not even anti-imperialist? You know this is how we got mao and stalin, right?

  • if I don't at least hear the George Micheal version soon I'm gonna lose it tbqh

  • Both were possible. One was just friendlier towards the ruling class, and all I'm asking is that people don't forget that.

  • Well, again I don't believe it's that simple. Other parties can qualify for federal funding if they get a certain percentage of the vote and no matter what, mine is one for discontent. I just can't in good conscience defend Biden - in fact, I think he's quite possibly the biggest mistake the democratic party ever made. Still find his presidency hard to believe, he was falling asleep during the debates and pitching nothing groundbreaking- the DNC straight up chose him because he's boring and easy to puppet if you ask me. Ntm because sander's campaign and a actual leftist movement was growing exponentially...

  • Good point. I'm praying everyday for the gods to deliver righteous judgement on both. But also for "leftism", anarchism, mutualism, ecological socialism, communalism or literally almost anything else to have it's day in a country that claims to value freedom and equality and to love it's land. Pretty sensible ask imho since we have undue global influence due to sheer military force and installations, colonies, bases all over the world ntm we don't tax the ultra rich for shit.

  • Lol the handmaiden's tale, I've stared nazis in the face counterprotesting- It's felt like reality for me as a trans person in America since 2016. I wish biden made me feel safer, but I'm only increasingly terrified about the future tbqh.

  • You have fun with that. I don't believe it's that simple and I have no hope in them or politicians in general honestly.... I just believe it's important to stop the consolidation of power, and right now both Democrats and republicans work together to keep theirs from the people. You can see it with how the democratic platform hasn't changed. They refuse to truly embrace antifascism for example, even in the face of the increasingly fascist rhetoric and propaganda on the right. But gun control is still on the table, and abortion/bodily autonomy is still a game of tug-of-war?

  • Well personally I'm voting third party on principle, not sure who yet but I'm real real tired of people caping for Biden when if he really cared enough to do anything I wouldn't be terrified of another trump presidency. Ridiculous that that's still a possibility, but inevitable when our alternative is another less overtly racist capitalist who's arguably a lot more entrenched on the side of the establishment, undeniably senile and imo, far right for a democrat.

  • "Could do better" is useless when we need "exceptional" more than ever, IMHO. The goalposts have shifted so far right since 2016...
