  • It is probably because their fascistic anti-communist minds has the blanks being filled in by "history" memes and youtubers.

  • "No rail-less nations are building rails" shows the infantile level at which this guy's brain operates. Global north countries are steadily showing a decline in living conditions while most global south countries don't have the economic sovereignty to invest in public infrastructure. Rail-less nations are not building rails because of neoliberal austerity not because it is not a sound investment.

  • It's a good first step when game publishers have "innovated" stuff like skill-based mechanics and opaque ranked ladders and there exists an entire economy of esports and deadbeat streamers all for tricking gullible children into believing that playing an online "competitive" game for upwards of six hours a day is something other than a black hole for their valuable time while parenthood and governance has not been able to catch up to said "innovations".

Onviously the best approach would be a humanistic and holistic one where companies are forced to not litter their games with addictive dark patterns along with investments in actually positive time sinks for children like sports and youth centers. But in the absence of those that is a good first step.

  • Read the replies to the Hyperloop tweet to see what a neoliberalism-poisoned PhD brain and its worshippers looks like. Gems like "the idea would have been viable with infinite money" and that the point of failure was the tunneling, which is literally the first step of the whole concept.

  • playtime limits for minors

    That's good 👍

  • How old are these Israeli articles that you found?

  • Does anyone else think that? This brain-dead saffronite is the first one I've seen doing this.

  • I feel like his answer was shaped by the context of the conversation but yeah I have also come to expect people to not respect the need to bolster industrial and technological capabilites. I don't know anything about Sison so not talking him specifically.

  • As a non-American I would appreciate some additional background. I read the post and understood it but I'm missing a lot of context so bear with me.

Seeing how California became a state before (for example) Oklahoma, is it correct to say that California was more sought after by genocidal settlers than Oklahoma? If yes, then why?

  • I didn't know about this. Looking into it, turns out police literally cited music videos as the cause behind violent attacks, a theory that was unsurprisingly supported by an ultra conservative think tank. London having a normal one. Do you have a link to any such music?

  • Kobo ereaders are very freedom respecting. You can run koreader or plato on it very easily if you are a little bit tech savvy. Just involves plugging in the reader to a computer and running a shell or powershell script.

  • I had heard the name but didn't know anything specific about him. But I feel like I've also seen this series of events in a movie except the Nazi goes on an unhinged tirade. Can't remember who was the subject of this tirade, jews or communists.

  • Yeah capturing him alive was definitely preferable. You wanna avoid rolling heads whenever possible although at times it can seem enticing. What I found odd was the deep turmoil in Aang over the prospect of killing Ozai. It is consistent with the character but I wouldn't have worried about it personally.

Within the story's ontology (as with most stories involving monarchies sadly), Ozai is not only the king by law but also a very poweful bender and his legitimacy as the king is derived from his talent. So taking away his bending is more effective than in a real world so to speak.

  • I wonder what the AI discourse in China is like. Over here in the "civilised" world corporations like "Open"AI are already engaged in playing god. Even their recent ousting of Altman was spinned along the lines of some discovery that threatened humanity (Q*) (it's bullshit as per usual).

Hearing the "civilised" talk about Ai turns me into anprim.

  • Just gonna come out and say that I am incredibly disappointed in Argentine for electing a cartoon character into office.
