  • Exactly, so it seems that F1 saving a few sets of tires per weekend is really just paying lip service to sustainability.

They should just be honest and say that they are making this change because they just want something different.

  • I think this is great. The current hybrid powertrains are so complicated and expensive. Just move to zero carbon e-fuels like Porsche is experimenting with and simpler engines.

Yeah the e-fuels are crazy expensive; but the small volume that F1 would require would still probably be cheaper than the current total costs of all the hybrid stuff.

  • Sounds almost more like wishful thinking than rumors. But it would lead credence to the abrupt driver swap announced today.

If Daniel was able to drop in a car after being absent for like 9 months and put down competitive times; then I understand Red Bull not wanting to waste any time. Horner probably wants a relaxing summer break with next year's lineup Locked in.

  • Never thought about the North Star, but I suppose that makes sense for northern hemisphere seafarers. But then combine that with the compass and European colonialism and it all makes sense.

  • I still maintain it was the wrong call. It only worked because Lando drove perfectly. If Lando made even the slightest mistake, he would have lost that position.

Expecting your driver to be prefect is not the right call.
