  • Solar is only half the battle though. There can often be a severe electricity shortage in the evening when solar power shuts off but temperates are still high

That's true of household panels (which are great for offsetting your daytime usage, which is usually your highest usage), but that is generally not true of large solar installations that heat up a huge mass of salt until it's molten and then produce power from that source 24/7. Example: https://insideclimatenews.org/news/16012018/csp-concentrated-solar-molten-salt-storage-24-hour-renewable-energy-crescent-dunes-nevada/

TL/DR: large solar installations produce power 24/7 (yes, even when it's dark)

  • As another fellow Washingtonian, I'm getting pretty tired of subsidizing willful stupidity.

  • Rewind. Now consider she is representing a political party that proclaims that any/all lewd behavior is demonic in nature and needs to be outlawed into oblivion and that any books that describe the behavior they just performed have already been banned in all schools and public libraries (by said party). That is the current reality, you can't make this shit up.

  • psyche! Those are the rules for me, not the rules for thee.

  • Can't wait to hear how her supporters choose to defend this (and her other behavior at this event). I'm sure they've already internally justified it to themselves.

  • So her earlier comments about it (where she adamantly denied vaping and claimed her only crime was laughing and singing) were a lie? Shocker.

  • Realistically, this should be a non-issue and ignored...except for the fact that they both represent a party who claims to be the beacon of family values.

  • I have never gotten an inconsistent pop like that. I sometimes get bags that get all popped but a few, and sometimes I get a few dozen unpopped kernels, and everything in between, but I have never had half the bag fail.

  • Get the Kirkland Brand Movie Theater Popcorn with Butter from Costco - it's great popcorn, is cheap, and comes in the mega-pack size you are going to need to get through all the cases.

  • How awesome would it be if Hunter ends up being cell-mates with Donald Trump‽

  • I have never been honked at for stopping at a posted stop sign. Maybe that's how they do it in some other regions of the US, but that's not how it works in the Pacific Northwest. Are you certain you weren't honked at for doing something else and just mis-associated it with stopping at a stop sign? Was it a 4 way stop and you didn't go when it was appropriately your time to go?

  • After receiving a speeding ticket for doing 53 in a 50

This sounds too ludicrous not to be made up.

I've received a LOT of speeding tickets in my life. The only time I've EVER gotten a ticket for doing <5 mph over the posted limit is when I was actually doing +14 over the posted limit but the cop wrote it for 10 less than actual because he had to write a ticket but didn't want it to be excessive....so the final ticket ended up being 54 in a 50 zone.

I can't imagine anyone not being able to beat a +3 over speeding ticket in court. I probably wouldn't even call my attorney for that and would just fight it myself.

  • Let me install my own third party apps w/o the App store (I know altstore exists, but needing to renew apps every few days is super janky). If I spend my money on a device, I should be allowed to put whatever I want on it, however I want. Let me, the consumer accept the risks of doing so.

This is THE reason I switched from Apple to Android in 2017 and never looked back.

  • That wasn't an apology. He believes people are slaves, the only thing he regrets is getting caught on video saying it out loud.

  • But neither of us wants to have only one great romance in our lives

That is the most succinct, eloquent, and compelling statement in this entire thread.

Have you also had your own distinct romantic relationships with others since being married, or is that not something you are interested in?

  • It's more like: I've only ever seen two unicorns, and both were white. Someone is trying to convince me that pink unicorns exist and I am saying I would like to see a pink unicorn.

Seems like you are intentionally trying to start a conflict where none exists.

  • Not sure how you are misingerpreting what I've said, but you are way off here. My previous experiences (don't know how you got 'assertions') are based on an already disclosed small sample size.

I have no judgments and no expectations but I am genuinely curious to learn more about the psycologies and dynamics involved, because it's completely foreign to me. Are you confusing me with another poster?

  • Although I am not interested in doing it myself, I consider myself a student of psychology and sociology and am very curious. I hope I have the privilege of meeting a success-case such as yourself in person, who's not shy about discussing it candidly, because I have a lot of curiosity about it and how it works.

I'm glad it's working for you. If you don't mind me asking, how long have you been participating in this relationship, do all 3 live together or separately, and have you always been an end or have you also been the middle of the V?

  • It would also affect already sold units. They are giving apple 2 weeks to come up with a software fix to remediate already sold units and if apple fails to comply, they will force apple to recall all the iPhone 12s still in use.

  • The article says:

The French agency that regulates radio frequencies, the ANFR, has notified Apple of its decision to ban iPhone 12 sales after tests showed the Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) was above the allowed limit.

    Followed by this quote:

The ANFR said it would verify that the iPhone 12 models were no longer being offered for sale in France starting today.

That sounds a lot like "banned" to me. Considering those two quotes, I don't think the article title is misleading. It sounds like they are banning sales effective immediately, and will force apple to conduct a recall if they can't retroactively fix the already sold units.
