I think you might have a misunderstanding about how tax brackets work (at least if you're taking about american federal income taxes). Progressive tax rates mean that only the income that is over the threshold for the new tax bracket gets taxes with the higher %. So if you are $1 over the limlt for a new tax bracket, only that dollar gets taxed with the higher percentage. You can read about this anywhere, this is just the first source I found.

So, I don't see how this example still applies here. But after some reading, apparently the prosecution got some new information after the plea deal, so the asked for 9 years, and the judge compromised on 8.5. That's at least what this article implies.

It's called a mast year. Every 3 to 5 years the trees in an area produce an enormous amount of fruit, then on the next year it's super low. Scientists think the trees produce more mast (botanical term for fruit of forest trees and shrubs, like acorns etc) than the animals could possibly eat, which guarantees that some seeds can grow into saplings. That's what gets me about flat earthers. The "best" explanation I've seen is that it would show the Bible is true and the elites don't want us to believe in God, but... would it show the Bible is true? Why even start this century long lie in the first place? I don't think discovering the earth is round is what pushed people into secularism in the first place, and revealing now it was wrong wouldn't get people into religion?

Does this method of speech jamming actually work for people? I've tried it and it really doesn't do much. Just concentrate a little. Have you never talked over people before?

Im sorry, but what this person told you is untrue though. A noun retains its gender in whatever declination it is, however, articles often double up within the german declination system. And it just happens to be that the plural definite article for nouns of all genders is "die", which is also the nominative singular definite article for feminine nouns. But the article never determines the gender of the noun, the gender of the noun determines which article to use. It's just sometimes, the article looks like looks like another article already used for something else. That's why every school book and german learning course tells you to put the noun in nominative singular before trying to tell the gender.

Within the german declination system, articles are very often reused for different cases. That does never change the gender of the noun.

Just like saying "der Frau" in genitiv singular does not make Frau a masculine noun, saying "die Männer" in nominative plural does not make Männer a feminine noun.
