  • lol.

idgaf how anyone has their mirror adjusted, turn your head and look with your eyes before changing lanes, full stop.

If you’re in a vehicle that blocks those direct site lines, then you should have multiple side mirrors with blind spot coverage already.

  • It seems like Bluesky kind of did all of this with ATProto but they’re just met with constant criticisms

It’s like everyone agrees mastodon isn’t the “right” special concoction but any attempt ever made to do something different or better and people shoot it down because it’s “not open like mastodon”

  • This, plus bsky seems to have a more active sports culture compared to mastodon so, although I’ve been in mastodon for a couple years, I’m already kind of enjoying bsky more.

Caveat: I’ve literally only been on bsky for less than a week so the activity over there could absolutely be temporary, we’ll see.

  • They did know beforehand, an AP article said as much:

“Upon learning of the former president’s request, we approached it through the lens of one of our core values: we open our doors to everyone,” the company said. “McDonald’s does not endorse candidates for elected office and that remains true in this race for the next president. We are not red or blue – we are golden.”

  • Yeah but repairs don’t get taken care of by a landlord. When you buy a home, you have even less monthly funds available for mortgage because you also need to be saving a little for the big repair things that come up.

Renting allows those repair expenses to be handled by the landlord rather than the tenant. Renting is not inherently a worse decision than buying, there are pros and cons to both.

  • No it’s more like:

Go to trial = no plea deal at all = risking harsher sentence OR you know you can prove your innocence

Guilty plea = accepting full responsibility for the crime and accepting the prosecutions deal of (usually) a lesser sentence to skip the trial and go straight to punishment.

Alford plea = same as above but maintaining that you are innocent of the charges but cannot prove that against the prosecutions evidence.

As others have stated, an Alford plea often has to be approved or accepted by the judge or prosecutors so it’s not always an option for everyone.
