My gf pays half the mortgage. She lives here. She uses everything. She helps with bills. This is a lot less expensive than if she were paying rent elsewhere.

She also didn't contribute to: new fridge, new kitchen floor (damage from old fridge), new bathroom ceiling (mold damage), new driveway, new garage, tree removal and trimming, new door (that broke when she failed to latch it in high wind), and all other house stuff.

asking half the mortgage when the burden of all the rest is on you is not asking a lot.

Local NAS with one share for Borg and proxmox image backups. That is then sync'd to S3 glacier. Borg is used for compressed, deduped archives of all important data. I do 3 daily, 4 weekly, 3 monthly.

Borg to rsync.net works too. Or just use rsync.net directly and they will snapshot for you. Borg accounts are cheaper though.

Antivirus is a technical attempt at solving a stupid user problem. It does not actually prevent any problems and causes many of its own.

Dark 'themes'of old were because of flicker on crts. We aren't using crts now. The contrast of dark themes is anything but easy on the eyes.

In that dialog, you can drag/drop a file from your actual file manager (nautilus, Nemo, etc). This, imo, is the best way to add files to anything asking.
