It's the same with FOSS. IP is just as fake as physical private property, but that doesn't mean we can't pay people for their labour.
If I find a really useful open-source licensed app developed by one or two people as a hobby, and they have a donation link in their repo, I might send them something.
If it's a really useful open-source licensed app developed by some corporation, there's no way I'm giving them money. The company has invested in developing the app as open source; they chose to (or were forced to by virtue of open source dependencies) make it public. The devs were already paid by the company. Whether the company takes in enough revenue by other means to pay for this open source project isn't my problem.
Imperialism is a one sided relationship, although there are of course inter-imperial rivalries. The US empire is the imperialist, its allies, largely former colonial nations themselves, are really nothing more than vassal states.
The heavy reliance of US allies on the US is by design. These nations didn't have a choice in the matter. That's one of the primary ways the US has survived so long as such a dominant imperial power. Of course these vassal nations participate in adventurism and neo-colonialism in the global south because they have their material interests to attend to, be those nurturing the relationship with the US, enriching their own capitalist class, or staving off revolt in their own populations.
If you read that media bias writeup you'll realize is that all it says is "The Grayzone often questions the US state department line so they're untrustworthy."
It's always projection from colonist/imperialist types. They can't imagine social structures beyond oppressive colonial ones, so of course them not being the oppressor automatically makes them the oppressed.
Not particularly interested in what a capitalist Wall Street publication has to say about something they do not understand and must destroy to protect their own interests.
I am just reading this post now, I'm pleasantly surprised.
I am however also sure that chat control will be proposed in some form again, as truly private communications for the masses are a serious threat to oppressors.
