Anyone with a brain and a shred of critical thought will look at mass layoffs and see them as the desperate move of an idiot in charge who couldn't think of anything else to save money.
Idiots in charge will look at them as a brilliant way to buy another yacht.

IANAL, but as I understand it's "People v" in cases where a state's DA serves as the prosecutor and "USA v" in cases where a DOJ attorney serves as prosecutor
Freedom of speech doesn't mean your free from consequences.
This is why the current administration is beginning the removal of freedom of speech (by enforcing removal of certain words from all government forms/sites/documents)
