I use them all the time! Unfortunately though our power system uses 120v and not 240v so our kettles aren't as effective here. Still, MUCH more effective than boiling on the gas or electric stovetop/range.

Ironically it was after I spent time in Europe for work in the early 2000s that I picked up on this and bought one for my house. Now with my family of four, we use them regularly.

Edit - also Technology Connections (my favorite nerd out YouTube channel) did a video on this.

And I'm an absolute bonehead for missing that this is the same video as OP posted. Please forgive me for being excited as an American that uses kettles!

I disagree. If everyone immediately overnight started referring to it as "Alligator Alcatraz Concentration Camp" and were committed to using that name going forward no matter what, they sure the fuck wouldn't like it anymore.

Maybe when this fizzles out we can get bipartisan support to change our First Past the Post voting system.

This will ultimately fail until that changes.

Wish they were in discussion to overhaul our fptp voting system. Any third party is doomed to fail, by design, until first past the post is in the rear view mirror.

I want it to be true that America would not have actually chosen Trump, but the older I get the more I see, the more I realize we're surrounded by severely under informed, misinformed, disinformed, igorant, selfish, people. The moment nuance is required to actually understand a situation, you can bet it won't be. :(

That doesn't bode well for a high refresh rate screen

Edit - 120hz is only in docked mode and with a compatible 120hz screen, although the screen also supports 120hz at 1080p. I bet that will feel incredibly different than handheld mode per the article's quoted refresh rates of the actual screen.

120hz vs 30 is a massive difference in terms of perceived fluidity.
