AI has been here for years now before you even knew it. Reddit employed fake users for a long time to make the site seem more active than it actually was. Before AI, they just had mass amounts of people pushing things. Now they can do it on the cheap.

Is your consciousness real? How do we measure this? How do you know you're not just a sufficiently advanced AI in a sandbox?

Return the internet to its glory days of no rules anywhere, imho. Get rid of the crybullies in every corner of the internet by harassing them out of existence. Learn to shitpost with the rest of us.

I don't think many people know about sim-swap attacks, so they think people knowing their phone number is fine.

Honestly I wish people would just fucking get rid of phone-number-based OTP anyways. TOTP is where it's at.

This is or was part of their anti-spam/flooding protection. In the server admin dashboard, you can require a phone number on the account or you can disable it and allow users without verified phone numbers to participate.

They do not require this just for a discord account last I checked. It's likely due to whatever discord server you're trying to join.

Same for Twitch. Same for a Microsoft account. It's become the new normal.

To be fair, decades to destroy. This has been slowly culminating since before I was even born. Maybe before my parents were born.

Occupy was infiltrated by our government by people meant to destroy it from the inside. They incited people and then arrested them for it. This isn't something that simply died off, they've mastered being able to co-opt an idea, push it the way they want, propagandize FUD around it, and then make it disappear.

This must be the most horrid type of programming work available.

First: You have to deal with Win32 APIs. Which, they've kept certain bugs because it break legacy programs.

Second: You have to deal with game programmers. Which, program things in such a way that GPU driver programmers, have to write SPECIAL drivers, so that your game is treated the way these programmers THOUGHT it was supposed to work...

Honestly Arch is fine as a beginner distro for the right person - The benefit of arch is the rolling release model and the fact that it's closer to edge than other distros. No; I don't want to use that package that's 6 months out of date -- Compile it myself? Well, then why would I run a 'stable' distro then?

Someone being on Linux instead of Windows is enough of a win for me. I'm going to praise whatever way they want to approach it, none of this purism shit.

Likewise, SteamOS is based on Arch because of the way it's architected in the first place. It's fine to want that. Now...if this were Gentoo on the other hand...

Which state is the puppet? Because it seems like it's America at this point.

Even when I do use windows packages, I always try to use ones that are Linux supported as well; so when I do finally make the full-time switch, the transition will be easier. But I find I always just do tar -xvf or unzip in a command line over there anyhow >_>

Oh, I'll have to try that, it looks nice. I tried PeaZip because the 7zip UI didn't sit with me well initially; I've gotten used to it since then but I like the way NanaZip looks from the screenshots; I'll try it!

Yeah, WinRAR averages about 3 per year.

All software stacks are going to be vulnerable in some way or another. We don't have a way to create perfect software just yet.
