  • It seems the question now isn't whether an appliance will get smart features, it's a question of when.

  • It's a shame. This was the case with both their previous watches as well.

  • I had a Galaxy Watch 4 previously 40mm model and it's battery barely lasted a day, especially with AOD enabled. Ironically, Samsung had released previous models like S3 Frontier with 3 day battery life, so their brand new smartwatch was actually a downgrade. Wear OS sucks so much at battery life.

To make things worse, GW 4 took nearly 2 hours to charge fully via it's slow WPC based charging. To make things worse, it constantly throttled and overheated in hot summers.

Samsung stuck to it's wireless charging mechanism even on GW 6 and 7. So, while Xiaomi's smartwatch with ~500mAh battery can charge in 40 minutes while my GW 6 takes ~80 minutes to charge a ~425maH battery.

  • I use NewPipe only despite having a current YouTube Premium subscription because the official app is bonkers. It's hilariously stuffed with useless features that can't be toggled off(games, shorts), half baked stuff like specific video quality can't be chosen for all videos by default( has to be on a per video basis). Oh, and every other time I visit some channel, asking me to join the YouTube's channel for additional perks. You just took money from the user to give them a sub par experience.

  • That hardware giveaway thing is only available in couple of countries right now, US being one. Otherwise, one can be a Platinum member in other parts of the world and they would get nothing.

  • Pixel is notorious for becoming hotter than normal. That's why Google added a vapor chamber to it's Pro series of phones this time. Heck, despite their slow charging speeds(27W, I think), they throttle even below that during warm days.

  • I haven't been banned from Reddit till now though if we are talking of different social media, does LinkedIn count? They wanted me to prove that I am a real person one day and upload some verification document/proof for that. I was running LinkedIn without any profile image and hardly ever opened it. One day I suddenly made couple of comments for first time and next day, came the hammer.

  • I still can't roll my head across the reason as to why a vaccum cleaner needs an account? What is next, account for using the faucet or toaster?

  • How will Daily Mirror remember I paid if they are not storing any cookies for me as they promise? Also, asking to pay just for valuing your privacy, I don't assume this payment will lead to removal of ads or any more exclusive benefits.

  • I just tried Tubular, a NewPipe fork and it works properly.

  • Musk has called the Moraes’ decisions regarding X “unconstitutional.”

Who would know more about Brazil's constitution? One of its Supreme Court Judge or Elon Musk?

  • I recognized majority of the languages on the list but couple of them I am hearing for the first time admittedly like Blade and Crystal. I am not a programmer, so I guess that might be the reason.

  • Use nicotine as the client instead. It's arguably more user friendly and also stuffed with features. Most nix distros have it in their repos. You just need to share stuff on Soulseek(primarily music though some people share films as well).

Soulseek is filled to the brim with music, especially flac versions of songs.

  • management getting a notification

Isn't that a giant privacy violation? Why does anyone need to know when you come or go?

  • Pocketcasts has a app(read:web wrapper) for Windows if someone has their Plus variant. But sadly, subscription model for podcasts is useless way to go.

  • That shouldn't prevent electrified trains. By that logic, my village daily saw power cuts yet an electrified rail track runs cleanly next to it. The power cut happens in the towns but unless the national grid fails, trains should keep working.

  • Native gestures as in the gesture navigation system on Android?

  • Blackout as in the city lights going out or the whole state grid failing?

  • I have a noob question, is backporting any of these camera features possible for Google to older Pixel phones or is there a technical limitation?

I do agree about diminishing returns on high refresh rates. I have my current phone turned to 120 Hz and it gobbles up battery quite much.

  • Till 2019, <1 % of total rail in US was electrified according to Wikipedia? Is this true; considering that US was a world leader in terms of rail transport upto WW II, why the abysmally low numbers? I know that privatisation of rail networks and car centred cities makes life tough for rails, but 1 % is abysmally low for a developed nation.

In contrast, China is at 75% and India is at 93% respectively and both of them also have giant railway networks.
