I used Signal since it was called TextSecure and I don't think I ever successfully got another person using it.
Eventually uninstalled it because it was just largely useless, anytime I messaged a friend who seemed to be using it they were more confused than anything.

You can run Windows on the Steam Deck but I'd argue you also introduce a bunch of new problems.

If you want to be mad about Apple not opening iMessage up, be mad that they don’t have an SDK, API, etc for non-Apple developers.

There might have been anger in the beginning but after 10+ years it's just kinda disappointment.

The only reason anybody is trying to make it a product is because there is demand and they think people will pay if they can deliver.

The original posts were limited to SMS length because that was an interesting way to post.
For awhile cellular data connections were expensive and very limited - so it freed people from thinking about the quality of their opinions vs the precious time and megabytes it might take to post it.
You could just fire off a text from the toilet instead of having to think too deeply.
