Awesome that's good to hear, all my LEDs and stuff I have blocked to everything but HA at my firewall but some devices like my smart vacuum apparently NEED internet access to work at all which I was hoping it didn't. My current doorbell needs it I think but hoping to get a new doorbell and camera when I move next year.

Are you able to have it blocked or limited from the greater internet and just comm with HA or does it need that as well.

The cheapest option Is the monthly one for no security updates, there are still regular pro and higher plans which are one and done, no grandfathering

Once you learn it it isn't super crazy but takes a lot of effort obviously. I think most people who do use k3s and k8s at home are people who use it for work so already knows how and where things should work and be. That said I work with kubernetes every day for work managing a handful of giant production clusters and at home I use unraid to keep it simple.

Appreciate the info, hadn't heard of any of that and I'm typing this from my Nothing Phone2. It was the only high performance phone cheaper than the galaxy and pixel devices and supports custom ROMs for the future. I don't use any specific Nothing apps or buds or launcher or anything. Also moved off most google apps as well so using open source and Android system apps or calls so hopefully shouldn't be too affected!

I use Kavita since I don't get audiobooks and found out about it before ABS. I convert amazon bought ebooks to epub using calibre and put them on my unraid server to get picked up by kavita. Any epub can be emailed from kavita to my device.

What you're not seeming to take into account is that every democrat I know has issues with Biden but since he is a career politician we know he's capable of putting knowledgeable people in places he doesn't have expertise in, which is what a competent leader does (which means I can't even mention trump, doesn't come close). The right doesn't seem to understand you can get your ideas and policies across without full complete love and support for the candidate. He's not the Dems supreme leader like the right has where everyone has to bow down, it's a system and he's just a head to rally behind while others get stuff done.

The default phones set only report in when it's one of a few devices contributing to the location of a lost device. You have to go in to settings to change it to report for all devices all the time which would make it more useful when not lost in a place like an airport or shopping center.

Not sure about audio but info came out and was corroborated by members of staff and people close to him back in like 2017 closer to when it was said. Was one of the 29 issues coming out of the administration at the time.

I appreciate the look behind the curtain but since apple was found in a court to have deceived customers and was proven of wrong doing it certainly is a bit more than just the media blowing it out of proportion or Apple actually doing people a favor that was misinterpreted. For example 3 days a week I use a phone from 2018 that was my daily driver for 3 years and needed to use it as a backup MFA device that I also sometimes stream and watch media on for a few hours a day. Updated it to the latest LineageOS and haven't had to worry about freezing or being slow or shutting off and corrupting my shit.

So much so that TFLClassics on YouTube in Colorado bought a well maintained model T and drove it to the nearest dealership and had mechanics there change the oil and take it for a spin just the other week.

It's not even almost, in 2019 there was a settlement where they were found to literally be making older devices artificially slower once a newer model or two was out. Settlement sign ups ended in 2020, search Apple slowdown lawsuit.

Because that phone would last and you would only need a new one every 4-5 or however many years instead of 1-2 so capitalist companies won't see that as having any value.

I think companies know what people want and how to make a great phone like that, just none of them will or want to be the first.
