I'd clarify with them but probably the 4th. As a kid I was raised that "this X" is the next one and "next X" is the one after that. But as an adult I can't say I've ever talked to someone who actually used it that way. Instead "this X" and "next X" mean the same thing (the next one after today)
S3 succeeded due to the scaling capabilities and the ability to abstract completely away from a server or disk. The straight forward Key/Value nature of the s3api was a big assistance in achieving the scaling and adoptability.
Comparing it to WebDav seems like comparing apples and... an orange smoothie.

I have an oversized "gamer chair" with a "footrest" that extends the front of the chair that allows me to sit cross legged on it. I replaced the base with a metal one and got rollerskate wheels. It's now quite sturdy and works well for me the last several years.
I miss the Zune Pass. From around the same time. Unlimited downloads with DRM and 10 DRM free downloads for 15/month. That was still the era of 99 cent songs so was pretty good deal.
