One step closer to just erasing trans people.

I need to remain hopeful. For my sanity.

Genocide. This is blatant, obvious, inexcusable genocide. Israel is now a rogue state.

Actually, it expects them not to, so it can yell about how unfair that is, and the Trump cult will eat it up.

I did exactly that for my mom. Totally non-technical, but she was beginning to absolutely hate all the invasive noise and crap from Windows. All she wanted was to write free of distraction.

So we backed up her files, set up Cinnamon, installed LibreOffice, and imported her files. I set the system up to be offline, since it's her no-distractions computer, showed her the basics of using it, and basically haven't heard a peep about it since.

Linux just works, without the bullshit.

If we manage to survive as a democratic republic, there are a lot of fascism enablers who need to be (scrupulously legally) prosecuted for it.

Concentration camps. Call them what they are.

Once again, it's not deportation. When a U.S. citizen is forcibly transported to another country, it's kidnapping and human trafficking.

Okay, I have a wife and kids, and can't do anything that risks their existences, so how far back I go is limited.

The earliest I can safely go back is mid-2010, so that's when I start.

For my first wish, I'm going to give the DA in New York incontrovertible evidence of the size and value of various properties in and around NYC as reported to banks for the purpose of securing loans, and as reported to state tax authorities for the purpose of determining taxation.

That should be enough to get Donald Trump indicted for tax fraud at a time when we still had a functioning judiciary, and before the red wave election in November.

For my next wish, I'm going to Twitter and giving them the easy ability to identify and block foreign disinformation agents on the platform. This is well before Twitter decided it liked the clicks Russian trolls bring. End result: The most widely used platform by Russian trolls is cut off to them, and Twitter execs have evidence of foreign interference efforts to give the feds early.

Finally, I'm zipping forward to 2012 and giving the two guys who tried to assassinate Putin some better planning, opsec, and training. Couldn't hurt.

It's indescribably awful to know there are people out there who would torture and murder my kid for being trans.

As the father of a trans person, this horrifies me in a way that's impossible to describe.

I don't think it's really sunk in yet with non-billionaire Americans how bad this is.

We're talking about the likely crash of not just the stock market, but the value of the dollar. We're talking about other countries decreasing their reserves of USD in favor of other reserve currencies and ceasing doing business with dollars. We're talking about global consumer-driven boycotts of American exports.

This isn't just going to be a recession. This isn't just going to be a bear stock market. This is a sea change. This is the end of the United States as a reliable and stable economic force.

If this isn't stopped somehow, it's going to make the Great Depression look like a fucking walk in the park.

We're well and truly fucked.

I've come to the conclusion that it has to get very, very bad in the states before we'll actually do something about it, and by then it's likely to be too late. We're taking the plunge into fascism, and it won't end well.

I really hope I'm wrong. The 50501 protests have been somewhat heartening. But it's hard to see them having a real impact on an actual fascist traitor president who no longer has to care about his own popularity.

So it's hard to imagine this ending in anything but violence.

Nah. It's not almost like that. Nope. It's exactly that.

This is weaponized incompetence and stupidity.
