  • I use the numpad quite a bit when entering lots of numbers with one hand. Comes up a bit in drafting, some data entry... Some video games.

This thread has made me curious though. That said I am very attached to my 15 year old logitech keyboard. Done some soldering, cleaned a lot of beer out

  • I feel like I had barely encountered spreadsheets before my dad threw me in the deep end with SQL at age 13. I did not learn it well and now have a semester of database design as well, but I'd say I'm about as good at both? idk :( I'm pretty bad at both unless I compare myself to someone without a CS degree.

  • Probably The Prince, followed by Debt. For whatever reason, it broke my brain, and I stopped being intensely angry at rules breaking (by others or by myself). Growing up, I had this fairly common internal experience of viewing rules (often social rules, often implied) as being immutable moral truths. I would be furious if I had been taught a rule "Don't do X when Y". I would be both furious and distraught if someone did Y and was either not punished for it or even rewarded. Now it's very much tied to context and power. It's still frustrating when people are treated differently, but it doesn't keep me up at night in the same way.

I think this was also around the time I started watching Adam Curtis documentaries. Whatever else I think about him now, he does talk about power and society a lot, and the liberal confusion that occurs when they try to ignore power in their explanations of society.

  • Russia should start claiming hamas are beneath those targets. Or don't.

Also, 30 seems like a bonkers low number for missile strikes in urban areas. Like, every single hospital bombing is Gaza has reported more casualties.

  • Worse things happen to better people (but also I am too tired for angry a lot of the time).

There are some psych things to do, breathing exercises etc. but honestly a lot of people who seem to have a hair trigger have a lot that's already brimming under the surface. Of course, some people are just entitled shits that get angry about every tiny thing that doesn't go their way and should probably reflect on whether they expect everything should go their way and if anger is helping them or their community. Sometimes anger is a totally justified response.

  • Apparently muted? I was using it like a muted yellow, so yellow but it's been faded in some way. They thought I meant like a muted sound on the computer which meant turned off entirely.

Prostate and prostrate are close to each other in my brain and I don't use either much.

Idk, there were a lot of words I apparently used wrong as a kid but it was never explained how. But also if you jump down someone's throat for a definition right there and then I struggle to give one
