Nah, eBay is mostly warehouse vendors now. I find it a little odd if I find an old school second hand item with bids. Also, at least in my country, most of the warehouse vendors offer free shipping. Aliexpress is generally cheaper per item tho

Um, we make fun of our authority figures but also believe the worst of them whatever they say about our national enemies (regarding Australia, national enemies include China, immigrants, the poor etc). There is more standard capitalist deference as well, you're not going to slag someone who can fire you (to their face). And people are constantly ladder climbing as well, so there's this sort of jockeying to have good banter while not creating enemies more powerful than you. I hate it. Its hard to navigate and people hide some real barbs behind "its a joke".
Sometimes. I have a hard time when to prioritise my own needs against other people's, so I wind up vacillating between very meek and belligerent kinda randomly. Especially when it comes to social needs (e.g. if it feels like someone else is dominating a conversation with their topic of interest, and I have something I wanted to say about something 3 minutes ago but the person hasn't stopped talking, idk what do).
I remember getting into an argument on here just after federation (I think) about how would western powers "invent" ten thousand dead people, as though the three sources for that number couldn't just lie (none of whom were there). They were getting quite heated but also lots of laugh reacts???
I've taken a habit of quickly saying I don't remember names well in some spaces. It comes up a lot in volunteering and activist spaces, where you might meet a dozen people at the same time and then not again for another month. Everyone has a quick laugh and forgives each other for forgetting their names.
(I feel weird if people refer to me by name, which probably says something about my relationship with myself)
Yeah, my first campus cat was very social, she was about 8 weeks old when she started interacting with a cavalcade of uni students coming over and fawning. Very human social cat
My "wiping nose because its dirty" is very different to my "pantomime wiping nose to indicate someone else's is dirty". Also, I will say something before for the latter case like "Hey, you have a little bit of..."

Job... applications and interviews? The combination of constant rejection, fawning, self aggrandisement, and constantly changing arbitrary standards for all stages just does not gel at all with my combination of rejection sensitivity, slightly different fawning, self deprecation, and bucking against arbitrary social standards etc. I've only gotten one job ever from cold calling since I started applying in 2004. Every other time I've known someone, and it's usually a few years between jobs
