  • To get to my job it would require several miles of biking followed by an hour bus trip. We don't just "all have" the ability to take busses and bikes everywhere. Plus during none of that time do I have access to a bike lane, so I'd be just praying I don't get run over by some dick head

  • I agree with everything except 4 and 6

4 because video live streaming is stupid expensive. Twitch only survives cause they're owed by Amazon who owns numerous data centers to support it. Same deal with yt.

6 because everyone's already doing short form video and we don't need another tiktok alternative. We already have Instagram and YouTube, and their server infrastructure likely far exceeds that of reddit.

  • From a couple minutes on Wikipedia, it was added to the law as part of Dodd-Frank in 2010, which overhauled the US financial system after the recession. The MPAA lobbied heavily on it

  • Ah, awesome!

Yeah, Mandalore does some newer stuff (I think he reviewed the newest Total War Warhammer game as it came out), but it's mostly older.

I'd also recommend the Ring and Anonymous Agony videos if you want more utter absurdity. Fair warning with Anonymous Agony, it's as edgy as edgy can possibly be. And the Ring is complete nonsense but still a great time.

  • Honestly, I've been enjoying not having an infinite amount of content to scroll through anymore. I get off of it a lot more and do other things. It's been nice.

Plus, memes last longer on here. I started falling behind on Reddit every week. Here a meme might last up to a month

  • I'm trying this out.

Here's the results: Shadow King (Marvel character): success after about 10 links

Ernest Shackleton (article of the day): 10 clicks

    Wikipedia (the article): 4 clicks

Church of the Holy Mother of God, Bolshiye Saly: 14 clicks

    James Loren Martin: 24 clicks

    Annette Ziegler: 14 clicks

Almost all of them went through Philosophy of Science or Philosophy of Art. Seems like a pretty reliable rule.
