  • Voting third party being a waste isn't someone's opinion. It's actual math. 3rd party candidates stand 0 chance in this system. I'd love them to. I believe the last (and possibly only) 3rd party to stand a chance was Teddy Rosevelt with the Bull Moose/ Progressive Party. That was 112 years ago. They merged with the Republicans in less than a decade.

Basically, voting 3rd party in this system is, in fact, throwing away your vote.

If you really want to try and change things, I'd focus on boosting up people in the Democratic Party that are pushing for election reforms, because theres no other way that a 3rd party will ever win

  • The Nozzle's recently been changed from one I managed to completely clog, as well as having been thoroughly cleaned. When I got this thing up and running again, I did everything shy of a complete reassembly for cleaning. I'm not sure about the crushed tip part. I've long since lost the needle that came with the printer, but I can run out to Walmart tomorrow and grab a new one to check.

I'm also just using these bottlecaps as markers that only I'll be able to see, so their overall quality isn't super important, I just want to improve future prints, and this lets me test out text quality. Figured I'd just knock out 2 birds with one stone!

  • Thanks for the feedback!

I'm testing the bottle caps on 110% extrusion right now. Hopefully that'll solve the issue, cause I have no idea how to go about following that guide on my ender 3. It just says "use the web interface", which my cheap af ender 3 doesn't have

  • So despite having this printer for a while, I'm unsure of what a few things you've asked.

First, the stuff I know how to answer:

    • afaik, it's regular PLA. I bought it second hand but still fully sealed in the vacuum bag, so I'm not 1000% sure, but it only says PLA.
    • I unclogged the nozzle within the last couple of weeks with a cold pull. It was having issues with text before and after the unclogging.
    • The width seems unlikely. This problem has persisted through 2 filament brands. Unfortunately I don't have calipers to test that with at the moment.
    • The settings I used for the bigger bottlecap (the one split into 2 pieces) were the default "0.08 mm SUPERDETAIL (0.4mm Nozzle) @ CREALITY found on PrusaSlicer. The bottom left cap used a semi-custom version of the same profile where I knocked the speed down to half. Figured it might have been too slow since the text came out way worse than the bottom right, which was printed on the "0.12 mm DETAIL" preset. If you don't have access to PrusaSlicer, I'd be happy to copy over some of the settings.
    • Looking through PrusaSlicer, I don't see any settings for flow speed other than Bridge Flow Speed, but I will get to googling and find it.

The main thing I don't understand is calibrating e-steps. I'm unsure of what an e-step is.

Thanks for the quick (and detailed!) reply!

  • Heaven forbid those woke ass blind people be able to enjoy life the same as people with full vision!

Also, it's a text description of a video. How tf does that help blind people more than just watching the video?

  • He still technically holds the title of president. You never lose the title, just the powers. Carter's still President Carter. JFK is still President Kennedy. Trump is, extremely unfortunately, still President Trump. None of them get powers, but the title is forever.

Which, fair imo. It's a position only 45 or 46 people out of millions of Americans have ever achieved (idk how they count the one dude who skipped a term). Keeping that title for life sounds fair to me.

  • Almost anything you see coming out of this God forsaken state is intended to hurt someone or to benefit the rich and powerful.

The last good thing that I can remember is when Tennessee Promise got passed and made college "free". Except you had to go to either a 2 year community college or one of a handful of specific colleges (which conveniently didn't include any HBCUs). And then you had to be enrolled in a 2 year program. And if you ever dared to declare a major (which was really easy to do accidentally), you immediately lost it for every future semester with no hope of an appeal.

Basically, there were a million ways to lose it and never get it back. This isn't evidence of anything, but I don't know a single person who managed to keep it for the full 2 years at a regular university.

  • It's TN. They'll win every seat except Nashville, Memphis, and that one West TN area I always forget the name of but they always vote Democrat. The first KKK was founded here, and the second and third were founded a stones throw away. I should know, I've been to Stone Mountain and witnessed Even-More-Racist-Mount-Rushmore.

That mentality has never really left rural Tennessee. Hell, even suburban Tennessee is wildly racist. My parents home town has outright stated they'll never allow public transportation because it'd bring in more Black and Mexican people to their 85% white city.

Also last time I heard this from the city's attorney, he didn't say "Black" or "Mexican". Instead it was an outright slur.

Again, this is from the city's attorney. And he's probably the least racist high level official.

They live 20 minutes from Nashville.
