  • Bud, that isn't what a straw man is. Like, at all.

And "objective computer analysis" can still be wrong and biased. Look at all the image classifiers that called black people monkeys cause they were trained almost exclusively on images of white people.

  • Ah, thanks for the info! A lot of the articles I was looking at said that they were good for people with allergies, including one from a vet service, so that's good to know.

The whole hairless thing is also super unsettling to me so ¯(ツ)

  • As someone who wants a cat but is really allergic, I'm not looking forward to shelling out for a Bengal or sphynx when the temptation gets too high...

I watch shelters around here constantly, and only one of them has ever come through.

It was adopted in about 10 seconds

  • When my grandparents call me to ask about something, I consider it main stream.

They called me the day it happened asking wtf was up.

I definitely think that the amount of people who know about has shot up probably a couple thousand percentage points, and not for the better, but it definitely didn't flip.

The other guy needs to Google what "hyperbole" is though

  • I understand completely, believe me. I've done plenty of work for my local Socialist Party branch. I play board games with the local candidate on a regular basis.

I'm still not voting for him for anything. He isn't voting for himself either. We both know he has 0 chance of winning, partly because he has socialist next to his name, but primarily because he's a 3rd party that struggles to even get on the local ballots. We still raise awareness and spread our causes, but we live in a state that's outlawed anything other than first past the post, and we're both smart enough to know that, mathematically, he stands zero chance.

  • Please.

  • When I heard that they "gave" the 007 title to a woman, I assumed it was gonna be Ana de Armas.

Man I was disappointed. I liked the other girl, but I'm a huge Knives Out fan

  • Agreed. If CA charged a few bucks for the 1.6 update, I'd have bought it without hesitation. Same with 1.5.

The best example right now is Factorio. There's a new expansion coming out in October. It isn't free, but it adds basically an entire new game on top of an already excellent and fully fleshed out game. I'm gonna buy it the day it goes on sale without question and without waiting for reviews.

Then there's crap like Starfield where they added 1 mission for $7.

Slay the Spire is current $8.50. Starbound is $4.50 (both are on sale rn for future readers) if you're looking for a space game.

  • And take every penny out of the AG and police budgets. If that goes over budgets, then start taking it from pensions.

People that hold the power of life, death, and freedom over others should pay the full cost of their fuck ups

  • As your neighbor slightly to the north, you have my deepest sympathies. My aunt had to find temp housing up in Michigan cause it's too hot, even with the AC on blast.

Funnily enough she's staying with this gay couple that rented out their basement to her.

Her KKK husband must be running in his grave, cause they seem to be getting along great!
