  • Large bank transfers are generally traceable and require identifying documentation for the receiving bank account. Sure, that can be falsified, but it’s often a lot of work; and transfers of this size will often have a hold and/or, fraud prevention intelligence involved to prevent malicious activity.

Sure, it’s not impossible that a bank transfer could have prevented this. But crypto exacerbates human greed by removing the safeguards, restrictions, and identification/legality placed around currency. Once the money is transferred it’s gone to a set of numbers. Yes, humans are at fault. Humans have been greedy since the first human was born. Technology that allows greedy humans to more easily take advantage of others should be looked at with a critical lens.

It’s the reason people don’t hack banks, they hack crypto exchanges, and most of the time scammers get people to send them crypto using the vast networks of ATMs all over the world rather than charging their credit card or using a bank transfer.

  • Unfortunately in the universe where this was created Lempel and Ziv never existed and so lossless compression never really took off. If it did they (and other computer scientists) might have their own logos here too

  • Ah yes the seven meals dips of hobbits Project 2025

    1. Breakfast Dip (Tariffs on everything)
    2. Second Breakfast Dip (Ok a little less but totally still for real)
    3. Elevenses Dip (Apple and EU bad)
    4. Luncheon Dip (Automakers bad)
    5. Afternoon Tea Dip (TSMC has to be acquired by the US or we’ll take it)
    6. Dinner Dip (Great depression 2)
    7. Supper Dip (WWIII dip)
  • Another calculated hit to the stock market so the super wealthy can buy at the dip and profit again before trump reverses it and the stock market skyrockets again, further inflating this garbage bubble

  • Likely in pretty much every case they are taking files that you perform an AI function on and uploading them to their cloud.

I said the few exceptions might be very low effort work that could run on the new NPU chips coming with some PCs. But I doubt they would even do that because it’s passing up the opportunity to use consumer data to train their models.

So yes, if you use an AI feature, MS is taking your file(s) and training it’s models on it

  • Just because the UI exists in file explorer doesn’t mean the data processing is happening locally. It’s likely happening on MS’s cloud. Maybe some actions happening locally on new machines with NPU chips

  • I really wish it was just “dumb trump.” But it’s more likely that’s on purpose so idiots searching for stage 5 cancer don’t find results and think it’s part of some deep state lib coverup as project 2025 guts their social safety nets

  • Generally trying to stay alive, pay rent, afford healthcare, maybe care for their family, for the employees. Blame the massive corporations trying to keep costs as low as possible but trying to have the least amount of drivers delivering the most amount of packages at the lowest pay possible.

  • The best part is that for 99% of NFTs, that graphic isn't stored on the blockchain. It's just a standard internet URL. So you are relying on the TLD to be alive in ICANN, the TLD to be registered to the same party that originally sold the NFTs, the DNS servers the TLD uses to be registered and function as expected, and finally the servers that are privately owned by somebody else to be hosting the stupid graphic at the URL the NFT is registered to.
