But yeah i didn't see the Nazi thing coming

This is happening almost daily for me, when i read news or overhear people talking at work for example. I'm afraid the next holiday season will be as family destroying as it was in 2016.

Someone said "i did nazi this coming" 3 times in a row, in front of a mirror and cursed the world by turning 50% of its inhabitants into nazis, overnight.

Worldwide, suddenly it's not only ok to be a Nazi, but they are everywhere and taking power.

What is this fucking nightmare?

Invasion of the body snatchers?

They live?

Dawn of the living dead?

The ever present paranoia in movies from that era, was always something eerie to me, something that i couldn't really imagine happening in the world i knew.

I'm starting to relate more and these movies are starting to have a new impact on me, because it kind of is happening right in front of our eyes.

I'm starting to feel the same unease irl.

People i have known my whole life, suddenly nazi. No, really, fuck this shit.

Pure, unadulterated, alarming and gruesome cannibalism.

I read about it before, but it's the first time i see them actually indulging in it.

It's heartbreaking.

After "It" i always expected the Monty Python intro to smash down on me and as time went on, without it happening even once, i started to at least queue the intro-music myself.

This time, it was triggered with double force.

It made me even more uneasy, that he's not looking friendly at all at the photographer. This makes me think, that is not a loved one of his taking this pic and it somehow made its way here. I hope this isn't a "straight to the Internet" picture taken without his consent.

I only had the chance to peek and after reading your comment, it sounds very plausible that general heating is a basic function. I'm sure i saw the seat-heating, in the lowest price subscription though. It must have been before they dropped the subscription for it. The paid air conditioning included air purifing with hepa and carbon filters and some iirc Plasmacluster Ion technology.

Even by not subscribing to the paid subscriptions he said he had to subscribe to the basic subscription, which enables the app.

It looked like they will also drop a random paid feature into the basic for a limited time, every few weeks another feature, so people get to test it. That's what the ad in the app suggested.

I didn't think about the one time purchase to be honest. I assume it to be featured in a submenu, to make it less prominent than the subscription, in order to get a bigger number of subscribers.

A friend bought a new BMW. Everything is controlled with an app. There's also an interface in the car itself, obviously, but the app has more functions.

Things like seat heating, air conditioner, enhanced cruise control and all the fancy things are only available if you subscribe to one of the three offerings.

I just glanced over the app, so i don't remember the names, but it went like the usual: basic, premium, platinum.

Prices were in the range of 200, 400, 700 euros a fucking month.

It's staged. The guy filming told him to look as if he was sleeping. You can see him closing the eyes with that "alright, I'll start now" look.

It went on for 13 seasons until 2013 and i just found out that season 14 has been running since March 2024, gasp!

In between there have been things like Promi Big Brother, the celebrity version.

The only one that was really able to entertain me non-stop, was Freddie Mercury.

Edit: not saying Jim Carey isn't entertaining. Jim Carey is absolutely entertaining!

People would die from boredom, watching me browsing Lemmy at work, at home, commuting and while sleeping.

They would love to see me for over an hour writing a comment, just to discard it, then upvote the great comment i wasn't able to write a good response to.

Same here in Germany, but they weren't sleeping. People were watching because of all the trash whispering and waiting for the first touchy situations inter the covers.

They even had a time where one channel was broadcasting live nighttime. I think that stopped after a few seasons.

Those first seasons were pure trash, but so naive, compared to what it mutated to over the years.

All my friends kids are playing Roblox and i'm trying to get everyone updated about Roblox.

The only concern they had until now, was the kids spending money for cosmetics.
