Grandpa just got scammed, and when we talked to him about it he said the bank literally told him "you are being scammed" and he insisted on sending the money anyway.
On the one hand, one lifetime is not nearly long enough to do all the things I want to do.
On the other hand, I've been severely depressed before, and the biggest thing that got me through those times was knowing that I only need to get through one lifetime - which again, really isn't that long.
Overall, I don't think I would ever want to be immortal, but I would gladly take a long extension if some kind of djinn were to offer it.
ChatGPT as a service absolutely does collect your data, though - at least on the free tier, not sure what their policy is for paying members and such.
And OpenAI is absolutely the one sifting through all that data - in an attempt to improve their LLM. I would be surprised if they were selling that data, honestly, since they of all people know how valuable it is for them to keep it to themselves.
Most people don't even know what ChatGPT is. I'm going to say there are at least a sizeable amount of people uploading resumes without any concern for privacy.
I don't have links, but at least from what I've heard, they were washing people down the drains afterward.
