  • Linux: Of course you can use these syscalls designed in the 70s. Windows: Compatibility with what? No, you must use these newly-designed functions that exist only on windows. It's for your own protection.

    Tell me again how proprietary software gives a shit about compatibility.

  • I think downvotes are important to social media. Without them, trolls have a much easier time rising to the top, as they get lots of upvotes but no downvotes to balance it out. This is why the most-followed content on sites that don't have downvotes like "Twitter" is some political bullshit. So yeah, I think downvotes are crucial.

  • What we need instead of copyright law is anti-plagiarism law. Make it a crime to claim you created something you didn't. With current copyright laws plagiarism is legal and politicians copy whole PDF theses and don't get punished at all.
