  • Untrue. Many Zero-Trust platforms out there that give you the tools to confirm when you are in fact e2e encrypted. They publish their docs, open source their tools, and give verification tools to check.

  • Well this is certainly shocking since most of the drugs given to autoimmune patients are in classes that raise cancer risks by multitudes, and prohibit patients from exposure to direct sunlight. Same with chemo patients.

  • You'd be better off getting a sub-$300 phone or tablet because this will cost way more than that easily, and without a battery, this is going to be a really shitty user experience.

The performance of a cheap mobile device will also be vastly better than a Pi device of any kind.

  • If you don't want another dependency, just get familiar with the provisioning tools of whatever distro you intend to use (Fedora Kickstart, for example), and learn how to quickly provision custom scripted thing with cloud-init when you provision something.

  • Well it's the 37Signals team (if you're familiar at all). They make good stuff. It's good to consider supporting any team who makes anything regardless of what you go with, so keep it in mind.

Asking for $10 across a large group families to cover the cost is easy to do.

  • I believe the undertone you're asking for here is "...and FREE", but let me point you in a slightly different direction. Campfire

Pay once, and own it forever. They give you the code so you can host it yourself. Does everything you're asking for, and can be easily extended to provide SMS if you know how to code (they may include an already existing interface for that, but haven't looked through the code in a long time).

It's not FOSS (as in free), but it's fully open-source, you can self-host however you want, and it's a pretty tidy UI/UX experience.
