  • Every week I pass by a starbucks at a major transit hubin Canada.

Used to be a big blocker with the crowd of40-50 people at all times waiting to either order or pickup.

Since feb it is below 8 people. The local coffee shop across the street, and even the Canadian fast food place that serves good breakfast though, they got a lot of new business.

  • Given Nintendo's NA HQ is in Seattle, its likely that their supply line runs through Seattle.

Thay said, in my opinion they are just being lazy as they also have a Vancouver facility as well. Port of Vancouver is also bigger, closer to Japan and notably more efficient than Seattle/Tacoma.

  • Its why Carney is so popular in Canada.

He hasnt attacked Poilievre. When asked he comes out with well reasoned and thought out plans.

E.G. instead of just "cutting red tape" to aid housing construction, which results in shit quality and developers timing completion to optimize prices; his plan is to directly get the government to build homes like it did in the 1950s and 1960s. This would also help get people into and trained in the trades, another of his promises.

Also, government employing directly will always be more efficient than contracting out. Because the contracting firms charge 5-10x per employee what the employee makes. For a western salary.

  • China is going one step further. Aside from their own tariffs, they have blocked all rare earth mineral exports to the US.

Given that US companies sold them the monopoly they enjoy in the mid to late 2000s, that is amusing.

Also, Trumps entire stated goal is onshoring production, putting export caps and taxes on oil, potash, minerals and electricity directly hurts that goal.

  • Because if they didn't do that, the people would rise up.

Just like how Canadian Potash was mostly exempted, and that the Moron got really mad when Ontario put an export tariff on electricity.

Because it would affect Yank pocketbooks directly.
