Change.org was popularized by Obama where the only thing that gave it any functionality was that beyond a certain threshold that the president would be made aware that a given campaign hit that threshold.

They already do. Its why the actual Occupy Wall St protests were quickly and ruthlessly dismantled and the useless Change.Org was set up.

They didn't occupy Parliament, or even the building Parliament is in. They were outside the confederation building. It's just offices and they were quickly arrested.

There is one caveat to the tariffs not working.

The proceeds of the tariffs were funnelled back into the US companies that paid the import tariff, so the US did not suffer from the massive illegal tariffs applied, and the tariffs were not applied against the raw logs that they did want from Canada.

If you believe what Musk is saying, some of the things his "2 trillion savings" pretty much has to cut is VA, Disability benefits and Unemployment. Most of the rest of the budget is stuff that has forever been used to maintain false GOP support in poorer states.

He has someone smart behind him though, dont assume that his entire team is idiots.

E.g. Rust belt its all about a reliance on the crowd wanting manufacturing jobs back and not understanding tariffs. Whereas in NYC it was anti-immigrant racism spiced through an insult comic because the rich of NYC hate them in "their city."

Albertan politicians can celebrate since they get paid in bribes from the US oil industry. The well-being of their province is irrelevant to them.

Canadian conservative voters already vote for the party that is directly responsible for their issues.

E.G. rural BC, suffering from the US being allowed to just import raw logs(so no more local sawmills) voted overwhelmingly in favour of John Rustad and his conservatives. Rustad was forestry minister when that deal was signed and is directly responsible for the issues that plague rural BC.

Moreover, the federal conservatives created NAFTA that disallows us from stopping the export of something unless we dont have any more, so the NDP couldn't stop the raw log flow now if they wanted to.
