Working at a small software company for the summer, the dev team I'm on all uses Linux - there isn't even a setup for windows. Don't know how that decision was made though, it was way before my time. But it was very nice to come in and see a thinkpad with kubuntu on it.
Other teams use windows though, QA and some non-technical roles like sales.
There's a lot of Microsoft stuff used (office, teams) but the web apps work fine, and we do most stuff in slack anyway.
Anonymous, opt-out usage metrics isn't spyware. You don't have to agree with it but calling it that is a huge exaggeration. Plenty of distros have these features already, just opt-in instead of opt-out.
I mean only one of the two main parties is pretty clearly against abortion and it definitely isn't the dems. So like, yeah. I'd think by voting repliblican you're probably against abortion. What opinions exactly do you share with republicans?
There definitely is a lesser of two evils lol. One party takes corporate funding and shit but actually makes and passes legislation for stuff like drug decriminalization andgreen energy. The other party is just blatantly taking away people's rights and blaming everything on "wokeness."
Also if you think they're equally bad why are you even voting republican at all.
To be fair, radio waves have been everywhere for over a hundred years now. Plus, it's just low-frequency light. It's no different (probably safer even) than shining a flashlight at your head.
Your car keys have better range if you press them to your head, since your skull will act as an antenna. It sounds like some made up pseudoscience that would never work in practice or have a negligible effect, but it actually works.
Edit: idk if it's actually because your skull acts as an antenna, although that's what I've heard. I looked it up and it seems like it's your head acting as a reasonance chamber. Since your body is conductive, your head can bounce and amplify the radio signal.
"Waltz" from DS9 would work really well I think. If you cut out the b plot of trying to find sisko, you only need 5 actors, and it takes place in one cave. You could probably get away with one set, maybe two or three props, and no practical effects.
If a mastodon user mentions (@) a community, they'll post there. They can also reply to comments on Lemmy and you'll see it. Unfortunately I don't think Lemmy has a way to see regular mastodon accounts/comments right now other than that.
Been making my way through totk. I think I enjoyed playing the first one more but it's still pretty good. I'm stuck at the lost woods though, have no idea what I'm supposed to do. I might have done a main quest early so maybe I just have to progress to that point?
That episode walked so ds9 could run.
