  • finally got around to finishing that, it was pretty good, my only beef was ::: spoiler spoiler whatever the hell Starbuck was after she came back? Also, they introduced the concept of cylons 'casting' visions, but evidently that wasn't what Gaius was experiencing? then what was it? Seemed like they were pushing the idea of christianity in a freaking science fiction show, and it completely turned me off the last season.

    :::

  • Honestly it's never been too bad for me.

except that time it randomly turned on my microphone during a meeting, when I was casually chatting to my brother about the beneficial value of replacing antidepressants with a microdose of shrooms 😬

or when it wants to open docs in Teams instead of opening it in the actual program. It always opens so slow, just so I can close it.

or when it tried to force its update on me, and took me from black background to white, and suddenly the background matched my rage; white hot and seething

  • They introduce it now, and even some conservatives laugh it off as "just a joke," but within the next 4 years, it will be raised many more times, each time with them getting more serious. They put it out there like this so it's less shocking the second, third, and fourth time you hear it. By the end, every conservative bootlicking moron will be lining up to say "presidents should be allowed to have an uninterrupted span of 8 years of rule so as to enact the agenda we 'voted' for!"

It's predictable. I'm going to buy some guns and start hitting the range.

  • Pulling out of the Paris Climate Accords oughta do it! /s

But maybe climate change will result in the eruption of some of our super volcanoes, which will produce a new global ice age, and everything will balance out? hahaha right guys? right? (we're so fucked)

  • republican morons can be convinced to do anything if you first convince them that a democrat already did it, so it's fair game.

The entire time he was lying about the election being stolen, I wondered about this. Democrats were all "election integrity has never been more secure" but I was like, yeah, sure, all those vote counting machines made by private third party companies couldn't POSSIBLY be tampered with 🙄 (tell that to Bernie Sanders supporters if you want to hear a belly laugh)

drumpf himself voiced that "you won't have to vote again" and "he already has all the votes he needs" in the run-up to election day. musk was literally buying votes in swing states, and now it can be said that all the information he got while running these blatant vote-buying schemes were probably used to cast votes on behalf of people he knew weren't going to vote. This is seen in the fact that in those solid drumpf counties, the down ballot republicans didn't win.

Toward the end of the election cycle, drumpf was phoning it in so hard. Remember when he was at a townhall, took two questions, and then danced on stage for 40 minutes? Remember when his team had to beg him to get back on the campaign trail because he just inexplicably stopped? I optimistically took it for resignation because he faced prison, but it was, in fact, because he already knew the outcome.

Now democrats have put themselves in a mess, because they touted election security like it was some ancient indecipherable machine that couldn't possibly be interfered with, until now??

So the guy that would have gone to prison for attempting to tamper with election results, gets onstage after barely winning an election, and says "gee, my faithful cock holster sure did a great job tampering with these election results."

So now what, immediate impeachment, that then fails? Do we wait till after the midterms to impeach? Or will they tamper with more election results to finally and forever usher in their fascist oligarchy?

    WHAT A FUCKING JOKE

  • At first I thought I could "take it or leave it" with kids. Then I married someone who was a firm "No," but strung me along when I asked if we could adopt. Divorced now, and when I think about the idea of finding a woman to raise a family with... I'm inundated with fear and anxiety. This world is so fucked that I cry in my dreams at the thought of it. What will the world look like in my hypothetical child's lifetime?

The supposed last bastion of freedom and democracy has fully descended into fascist oligarchy. We were supposed to stop climate change before we hit 1.5 degrees of warming, we hit that last year. Now they're talking about what's going to happen when we hit 3 degrees of warming. So every natural disaster is going to be far worse, and far more frequent. The fire in LA is still burning. A fire swallowed up so much, the next one may take the entire city. Scientists have been dreading the eruption of a super volcano for a while now, saying that it could cause a global ice age, gee I wonder if climate change is making that more or less likely?? (hint: it's more.) Meanwhile NATO and the combination of russia/china/north korea/iran are preparing for the last war this world may ever see.

Not to mention that having a kid is like pooping out a ticket for half a million in debt. I already think about killing myself so often, could I really bear the thought of shackling myself to this soul sucking job for the rest of my life? Goodbye following my dreams, hello more debt.

So now I can't even bring myself to date, because despite getting divorced over it (not really, but it was a part of it), I still can't truly answer the question "Do I want kids?" Approaching 40 and time is running out. Gotta make up my mind, but in the meantime everything is getting worse.

I heard once that single life is like being the center of your life's portrait, and once you have kids, you instead become the frame. But I already feel like I've lived my whole life within the frame, and want to try being the center of my own portrait for once.
