  • The author, colin wright, touts himself as a fellow for SEGM "The Society For Evidence-Based Gender Medicine;" which is a non-profit organization that is known for its opposition to gender-affirming care for transgender youth and for engaging in political lobbying.

He's a POS who gets paid to write smear pieces endangering the lives of trans people, by people with even worse ideals than his own.

  • A summary of the story, scene breakdown and scripts should be distributed to all cast members in advance.

performers should be able to request a closed set where access is kept to a minimum.

A competent intimacy coordinator should be engaged.

    These are not big asks.

In one recording for a major game she first learned it was explicit only when she turned up for work.

"This was actually a full-on sex scene," she said.

"I had to [vocally] match the scene and through the glass in the booth was the entire team, all male, watching me.

"It was excruciating... at that stage I had been in the games industry a while, and I had never felt so shaken".

Not unreasonable to say that this situation should not be repeated.

  • In February 2018, four months before Volar’s death, a 15-year-old called 911 from Volar’s house, saying a man had given her drugs and was going to kill her. Officers found her in the street, drugged and shirtless. She alleged that Volar had been paying her for sex since she was 14. She warned them that he was also filming his abuse of other girls, including one named “Chrystal.”

Police found “hundreds” of videos of child sexual abuse in Volar’s home, including more than 20 he’d filmed himself. Some of those videos showed Kizer.

Volar was arrested and charged with child enticement and child sexual assault. But the same day, he was released. He remained free for months, and no criminal charges were officially filed.

Kenosha prosecutor Michael Graveley said that his office did not know the age of the girls in the videos, and delayed filing charges until they could determine whether they were minors.

But records obtained by The Post show that investigators described many of the girls being abused in Volar’s videos as appearing to be in their early and mid teens. One, they wrote, could have been as young as 12.

This story is also about how police and the prosecutor failed to do their job, and now two families are destroyed.

  • The original Twister (1996) is just so good. I love Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt already, but adding in Phillip Seymour Hoffman as the goofy sidekick and Carey Elwes (from Princess Bride) as the antagonist storm chaser? This movie had no business being this good. It's light-hearted but dramatic, scary yet heart warming, whilst being revelatory in it's authenticity. It was so informative about the nature of tornadoes, didn't have to dramatize a thing, just showcase their spontaneous destructive power, and that was enough. Such a good movie. I've yet to try the new one

  • I just became increasingly attracted to raspy voiced women, honestly.

IMO One of the best Science fiction shows of the last few decades. Each season just got better and better. The quality of writing, the well rounded characters, the budget, the acting... It all went so well. Great shows like this require catching lightning in a bottle, and dang they must've had a helluva bottle cuz it's chock full a'lightning

  • oh 100%. Him appointing the general to act as a diplomat, which provided him with immunity from prosecution, was a nod to the effectiveness of the plan. You can tell that Zelensky was like "oh yeah, SURE I'll put a stop to that plan that will financially cripple the country invading mine. [puts hand over the phone, yelling to no one] Hey guys would you pretty please not blow up putins cash cow? ok? ok. [takes hand off phone] See, I've done all I can do."

  • Indeed. ::: spoiler spoiler The idea that the supposed smart girl of the family would intentionally get into an untested machine (she literally asked if they had tested it on living beings yet, which they said they hadn't), with the intent of "only temporarily killing herself," so she could... do what? Kiss her ghost crush? when they had already explicitly said that her ghost form could interact with the physical world, so they could've kissed regardless? Then, take the other story arc, about the fire master, that could have been the main story arc! They could have kept some of the teenage rebellion of the two kids, while having most of the story revolve around him becoming fire master. Instead, they tried to shove 3 stories into one movie, and it just came out a garbled mess. :::

  • Thanks for including an archive link, interesting story. It's crazy to think about how something of such consequence can happen, despite all these official government efforts to stop it, all with a team of just 6 people on a boat with some diving equipment and explosives.

  • I've seen a couple of his videos before, and remember having the same reaction he described "They see a young kid, used to work as a trader, talking about the economy, and think, who the f*$% is this? He's not even an economist?" But I also remember that what he said made sense, makes sense.

He mentions something like this in the video, but I had a similar thought that I'll share. conspiracy theorists love to think about the dark figure in the shadows, holding the power, pulling the strings, to make the world as they see it. And while that can be scary, it's also comforting, because the alternative is far worse, that there isn't anybody behind the curtain. We're all drifting, rudderless; lunging catastrophically from collapse to collapse. Nobody's in charge, and the only real rule of the world is take care of you and yours, because that's about all the control in your life that you'll ever get, and most of the time you don't even get that.

There still are people in the world that DO want to help others, the problem is that there are so many people only presenting themselves as such, that it's hard to tell one from the other. It's why authoritarians rise to power, they tell everyone that they have a rudder, and will steer us to calmer waters, when in reality they're profiting off the storm.

It's also why strong social welfare programs is the only real answer, because when everyone is already in calm water, they don't feel the need to sail into a storm in search of something calmer.

  • Maybe he'll get access to a therapist once he's in prison. Group therapy once a month, individual sessions once a year or so, that's about how it goes for incarcerated folks I hear. It won't be a lot of help, but then again, he doesn't deserve any.

  • Mad Max: Fury Road, it was just as good as I remember

Oops, forgot about watching Murder Mystery 2 and Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire with my parents. They were ok for a few chuckles, Ghostbusters had some fun easter eggs.

  • I lived in Cleveland for a few years, never heard of/seen anything like that there. Some sketchy neighborhoods, yeah, but so bad police advise you not to stop at red lights? nah.

I mean, Ohio cops are the worst, so even if it was the safe thing to do, they'd pull your ass over for running the light, and then leave as a crowd gathered around your car lol

  • My grandmother is currently dealing with this. She's living off a pension from her late husband, and the cost of repairs to her complex is mucking everything up. Every contractor in the state seems to consider this a boon, and have been jacking up their prices considerably for even minor work. So far she's been somewhat lucky with weather related damage, but for how long her luck holds, we can only guess.

  • Now, just over four years later, both Bowman and Bush have been routed out of Congress, thanks to a historic deluge of big-money spending against them. They battled challengers in the most and third-most-expensive congressional primaries in American history, respectively, and each was outspent roughly 4–1. In both races, the overwhelming majority of that money came from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, the conservative, pro-Netanyahu lobbying group that has fast become one of the biggest outside spenders in elections, funded in large part by Republican megadonors. The cryptocurrency industry, also increasingly Republican-aligned, chipped in at least $1.5 million to knock out Bush and over $2 million to knock out Bowman too.

Thanks Citizens United! I love having an unlimited amount of dark, untraceable money from foreign powers influencing our elections!
