They're script kiddies, they use CVE to figure out which hacking scripts to use to break into servers that haven't been updated in years.

If your adversary has satellites that can tell them where you are and a sufficient amount of missiles / torpedoes, there's only so much you can do.

All UBI proposals I've seen don't get anywhere near what you'd need to live off, and even worse, it's sometimes sold as a way to gut other social programs. We definitely need to do something if we really are going into a world where AI is taking jobs, but it needs to be something better (maybe just provide free housing, and other basic necessities if AI can provide us with unlimited stuff anyway?).

By stopping austerity. Tax the wealthy and reinstate everything that's been torn down since the new deal. Shift taxes from taxing labour to taxing assets.

I personally run it on a MiniPC that runs proxmox. You could run other stuff on it through proxmox as well. I would definitely recommend running always on server stuff on something other than your main daily PC.

You could probably run all the other stuff on there as well, although transcoding might slow things down a bit. HA itself should be fine as once you've set up all your automations it's not like you need to interact with it directly and you'll just get a little bit of lag at worst.

The US is just going to isolate itself by doing a trade war by itself. The only way this was going to really hurt China was if the US somehow got the EU, Canada and Australia to put the same tariffs on China. Instead the US is just pushing everyone into China's arms and making things more expensive on their end.

It's a crime and terrible, but it's not terrorism (ie. Violence for political ends). Terrorism laws allow the government to do all kinds of stuff like searches without warrants and extended pre-trial detention. It's good that they're taking these crimes seriously, but the terrorism units should stay far away from this (and should be abolished entirely, ideally).

And go after the influencers for incitement of crimes. If what Andrew Tate and others are publishing is causing people to do this, they should be locked up.

And the government is just using this as an excuse to slowly expand what falls under the terrorism legislation, until everything's terrorism and the rule of law is completely undermined.

That would just give them an excuse to go deeper into Syria. They're not above getting a bunch of their own civilians killed to be able to retaliate.

You could just swap them on day 364 and claim they're a new installation. Or just say you swapped them.
