There are still apps that won't bother to separate their notifications into different categories so that you either have to block all or nothing. I think Uber and Lyft do this.

Actually this isn't true, the why is very central to the case. The prosecution's argument is that the "why" is that it would've been damaging to his campaign. That is what links it to the campaign finance law, and what makes it a felony offense. This is an element that they will need to prove in court.

Makes sense. For me it depends on whether I'm going to watch something on a monitor or a TV...a movie I'm planning to watch on my TV I may very well go for the 4k version. But 4k file sizes are high enough that I'll definitely think about whether 1080p is good enough.

You have no problem downloading because your client is initiating the connection. But people won't be able to initiate a connection to you. If you're just leeching off public trackers and don't care about your ratio, then that might not matter to you. But if you're trying to maintain a ratio on a good quality private tracker that's a no go.

You can use a site like this with your VPN ip and the port you have configured for bittorrent while your bittorrent client is up to see if you're connectable.

The most common use case is probably bittorrent. Without port forwarding, you won't be connectable. But anything where someone might need to connect to your local machine from the internet, like hosting game servers or other self-hosting.

Nah, there is no rational thought process that's going to lead you to the conclusion that doing this is a good idea. That's like saying playing Russian roulette is a good idea if you're aware of the risks.

There are activities that are flat out not covered by life insurance, like sky diving. I doubt they would pay out if he was doing this.
