  • Because the number of people/households who consume equal amounts of chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry ice cream seems limited. And I don't think there's much to be gained by eating all three at once. Therefore it seems like something that has very little utility, so I'm surprised it would spread. Plus I can't say I have any knowledge of it being invented outside the US, since to me it feels very.... 1950s America vibe.

  • At the end of the day I'd rather medical research be conducted on dogs than humans (at least, prior to when things are ready for human trials). But also I'm pretty sure it's regulated what can be tested on different kinds of animals. The bar for testing on rodents is for example much lower than the bar for primates.

  • I can say that in the case of enterprise windows setups, the system caches your login credentials if it can't reach the domain controller, so that you can still log in even if you're not on the corporate network. I imagine it does similar for windows accounts (but I never use one so I can't say for sure).

  • There was an AMA on reddit last week from someone who managed DMs for OF models. Their job was basically to get people hooked and thinking that they had a real relationship with these models via DMs...when the people weren't even talking to the actual models at all. I think that probably qualifies as despicable.

  • I've used that method many times, and while it certainly reduces the time it takes to peel in bulk, I've never found that it fully removed the peels from the majority of cloves, which means they still need individual attention to complete the job. Or put another way...it's still a pain in the ass.

  • They appear to have degrees of blacklist. Usually when this happens if I get a new ip it resolved the issue.

Note that VPN users share IPs with other users and many of the people using the same IP may very well actually be doing malicious things. Not everyone uses VPNs for just "privacy".
