  • I never understood why official goverment body’s do that anyway. Maintaining your own infra means you have full control. This should be mandatory for any government body. Not beeing dependant on big tech who make up silly rules as they please.

  • Have you donated money so they can?

Another server (and i assume you mean one with better specs) means more money. Its not just challenging, its also costly.

Alternative you could setup your own lemmy instance, you can still join the community’s on lemmy.world or lemmy.ml or whereever :) and its fun to do.

  • For me the benefit is uniformity (not sure if thats a word) i can have a matrix account, a mastodon account, a lemmy account, all sorts of fediverse accounts all under my own domain.

This comes next to the already mentioned benefits ofcourse :)

  • To be fair, printing on Windows isnt all roses and sunshine either :) Printing in itself is an issue. I remember how happy i felt when the big tech started talking about the paperless office and all..

I’m still waiting, and praying for that day to come :)

  • Nice! Currently we use Nextcloud a lot, but it never hurts to try new things :)

  • I tried setting up ONLYOFFICE once a long time ago, i never could get it to work :(

Hows that these days? any easier?

  • Not everyone should be allowed to have children. Why? Because i believe my parents shouldn't have had children. But here i am anyway ;-)

  • That i'm gonna eat healthy. That i'm gonna learn how to play piano.
