Can we step back for a second and just soak up the fact that it's 2023 and some presidential candidates still want to debate the benefits of owning humans?
I know MLK Jr said
The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice
But man, that arc seems so long that a flat earther would deny there's a curve at all.
Seems neat. I wish there were a way to add custom fields; I would totally use this to keep track of my liquor cabinet contents. (I use a spreadsheet for this now.)
I know it's not the general use case this though, but that didn't keep me from getting my hopes up haha.
That cable is rated properly for your use, though the one from your OP is also properly rated, and very broadly the stuff you get from Amazon from a reputable brand is going to be fine. The dock is probably fine, as well.
The monitor shouldn't affect anything regarding charging, as long as you pay attention to the ports you use, as detailed in my other comment.
What he means is that these multi-device chargers can't supply the power they say to everything all at once. Additionally, many of them have specific ports that supply different wattages when more than one port is used, and some even have ports that just don't supply as much power as others.
Yours specifically has these quirks, as you can see here. So ensure you're always using the port farthest away from the USB-A connector when charging your steam deck.
Keep in mind that I barely use it and only follow a few people I followed from TwiX.
People seemed friendly enough but there is a lot of self-serving navel gazing, and it seems like the "Discover" feed is full of inside jokes/references that I don't use the app enough to get.
My first day the big thing was complaining about how terrible and bigoted the devs of bluesky were, for something they said that I never did figure out, and the subsequent complaining about people complaining about the devs. Very dramatic.
To be fair, I'm sure if you just followed the people you cared about, and avoided the discover feed, it would be pretty Twitter-like.
Also, there's a character limit and you can't edit. These aren't technical limitations anymore, like they were for Twitter at the beginning, so they must be design decisions.
Mastodon would be my personal preference, but Bluesky seems pretty noisy to me, which seems like what people want from microblogging sites (I'm more of a reddit/lemmy/kbin style person, myself.) The question is whether Bluesky pulls a Google+ and stays invite-only for so long that they miss their own hype train.
I just asked Bard to summarize the flat earth stance and it wasn't subtle about calling it out.
An excerpt:
There is no scientific evidence to support the flat Earth stance. The arguments that flat Earthers use are not convincing, and they are all contradicted by the evidence. For example, ships disappear hull first over the horizon, which would not happen if the Earth were flat. Additionally, when astronauts go into space, they can see that the Earth is a sphere.
The flat Earth stance is a fringe belief that is not supported by the evidence. There is overwhelming evidence that the Earth is a sphere, and the arguments that flat Earthers use are not convincing.
So, maybe there's hope, still?
I asked the same about the anti vaccine stance and it gave a similar result.
Ohhhh... Well that might be an issue with your specific instance being unresponsive. The reports I just did, however, worked pretty much how you would expect, so it's not likely to be a lemmy-ui or backend bug.
You know, it's surprisingly vague even in the official documentation.
Let's test it out. Create a post on your instance, and then make a comment on that post, and I'll go report them both as "testing" and we'll see if you get notified.
The left, frankly, is relentless when it comes to stating their point of view and using the organs of mass media-- and Wikipedia is part of their mass media I think-- to shape the world," Sanger explained. "And so it became another one of the institutions that they had to capture.
So you're saying that if tomorrow there were no more billionaires, then workers in Texas wouldn't need water breaks anymore because the climate would fix itself immediately?
Just like on reddit, the escape character is a . You can easily remember this by thinking of all the shrug emoticons that were missing their arm, like so: ¯(ツ)_/¯ because the backslash wasn't itself escaped.
So, if you want to type a character that normally results in formatting, precede it with a blackslash.
checks notes* results in checks notes* instead of checks notes.
I am pretty fascinated (read: terrified) about what happens if Congress makes a law giving ethics requirements for the SCOTUS and they strike it down as unconstitutional.
