  • I'm just imagining the nutrition facts section for that bottle of test strips

  • Get the naked mole-rat

  • Me irl

    Jump
  • Null hypothesis where

  • To be fair there are known vulnerabilities such as xz in a specific version range that can be detected. While it's not needed as long as you stay up to date, it might be one avenue to look at

  • It's essentially the traveling salesman problem

  • Election is next year

    Might vote for brad lander

  • 2 bytes would be 0-65535 and 8 sets is ~3.4×10^(38) addresses

  • Coal plant burns coal to heat water, makes steam, and the steam powers a turbine to produce electricity. A nuclear power plant uses nuclear fuel to heat water and produce steam similar to a coal plant. It may do this indirectly (e.g. second loop between the nuclear fuel and water loop to prevent the water becoming radioactive). This means that to build a nuclear plant you essentially need to build a coal plant, and then also the nuclear reactor and safety stuff, which makes them more expensive. Since coal plants are being turned off anyways, it might be more cost effective to just retrofit old coal plants so the only cost is the nuclear reactor side of things (plus any necessary maintenance and upgrades)

  • Also if you want a domain but dont care about the actual address, a .xyz domain composed entirely of numbers with less than 10 digits is $1-2 + same as renewal fee per year. $1.22 for me on porkbun

Just be sure to redact the whois information bc you will get a call from scammers trying to get you to register your domain on some "internet map" for a small fee acting as if its some step in your setup process you havent done yet

  • Stay in the funny box

  • Behavior is called mobbing

Its not worth it for the predator animal to go after a bunch of smaller birds that are harassing it so they tend to leave. Its also done to steal the predators meal when they leave or to distract it while another bird steals its food. Also draws attention to them to prevent them going stealth, which can affect bjrds like owls, who tend to be victim to this type of attack from prey birds. This makes them leave because their main weapon is stealth and when their cover is blown, they will have a harder tome catching prey (including the mobbing birds' babies)

  • Typically if you report the phone stolen to your provider they blacklist the IMEI which gets shared with other providers so the phone can no longer be used. I was unclear on this part but a new e-sim can be provided for the new phone, and the old sim banned or the old one transferred. Regardless, the old phone will still show the IMEI/sim/phone number, which is how they got that to text them

  • The phone itself (by IMEI) is a brick. The sim and same phone number were assigned to a new phone and they texted that number

  • Paint used for the images on the side of the glass had heavy metals (e.g. cadmium). As the paint flaked it became possible to ingest it. A mom who for some reason had an XRF gun (x-ray fluorescence, allows identifying element makeup of things. Useful for identifying material or ore content) and saw a ton of cadmium then went and reported it

  • Yes and no

  • Just searched my old user names and found absolutely nothing except for one post from 2012 on Minecraft forums

It's one part a lack of SEO/searchability and nine parts sites that are dead and gone taking that information with them.

I haven't been the best about backups, passwords, etc but I'll probably set up a dead mans switch at some point to release my passwords to my family and delete my drives if/when I can't do it myself. I've already got bro on call to drive to my house and shred the drives •=•

  • Choosing rice either wasn't random or you just stumbled onto "ricing" and "ricers" which comes from a derogatory name for Japanese motorcycle and cars in the 60s-80s? ("rice burner" and "rice rocket"). . Ricing/ricer later became a term for modded cars/motorcycles which were popular in Japan.

That's where r/ricing and "Linux ricing" came from for Linux/unix theming. It's not unique to that either. People use the term for their gaming rigs. An example of "ricing" in this context is adding tons of RGB LEDs. Some people consider the term racist, other people don't care and continue to use it
