Misleading headline. I watched the hearing, what he said was that parental controls should be centralized by Apple/Google at the app store level. To simplify the process so that parents can cut access to apps for their kids without needing to manage parental controls for a bunch of apps
Hey just FYI, I've been experiencing a postgres memory leak issue on my instance since the upgrade to 0.19.2. Theres a GitHub issue open about it (#4406), not sure if it's something that will affect you but probably worth keeping in mind
Don't think android could get away with doing something like this. The biggest company in the space (Samsung) has been pretty firm and intense about the samsung app store
hypocritically edgy comment to put into an article.
Its vice, their whole brand is edgy. Calling Elon an edgelord is very on brand for them.
pretty conspicuously ignoring that men can be victims of this too.
Sure, but women are disproportionately affected by this. You're making the "all lives matter" argument of AI porn
make people take sides on things like this
People should be taking sides on this.
Just seems like you wanna get mad for no reason? I read the article, and it doesn't come across nearly as bad as you would lead anyone to believe. This article is about deepfake pornography as a whole, and how is can (and more importantly HAS) affected women, including minors. Sure it would have been nice to have a comment from Taylor, but i really don't think it was necessary.
Yeah tho fr, i'm west indian and there was a lot of veiled racism in school. Didn't really notice/thought it wasn't a big deal until i went to college and realized that shit DEF wasn't normal
This, i keep telling people this is just a very sensationalized headline. Some of the companies listed here are definitely from breaches that happened over 5 years ago (ex: myfitnesspal)
This! Im planning on getting this set up on a spare pi one of these days™. You get a free premium acc on the tracking sites, so you can track where tf all those planes and helicopters above your house are going
TBH, from a privacy perspective you're probably already pretty set -- if you wanted to be more cautious you could use disk encryption, ensure that things are a bit locked down (ssh key only auth, firewalls, or find a guide on hardening like this for ex). In terms of your UI, it really depends on what you're looking for, personally I find GNOME to be the best looking when compared to ease of use but when i made my first switch I started on i3 (but that would be Sway these days for Wayland) and never looked back.
My advice would be to get familiar with Linux as a whole first and then start tweaking things like your UI. It can be overwhelming to get used to the terminal commands (which btw are not necessary but I would heavily recommend as it can make things a LOT easier) and other weird Linux things (software installation, gaming, customization, etc)
LETSGO
Yeah my instance is small but my uptime is pretty good (except this db issue tbh) so that might be why
