  • Someone please frame several copies, and distribute them like Easter eggs around Mar-a-lago.

  • This is a really good write up. It reflects my experience and understanding well.

If I can offer my opinion on the J6 types, I think we have to be careful not to present them as antithetical to the autistic way of thinking, because a lot of autistic people end up in those spaces. For some, the world and its norms become so inscrutable that they seek other sources of order. Religion and strictly defined politics can become a comfort, as illusory as they are.

So it may seem contradictory, but autistic people can swing hard away from social norms, but they can also swing hard into it. Because it's a spectrum, defined by divergence, which can happen in any direction.

  • Or Bluefin, depending on desktop preference. I've been using both and can recommend either.

  • I think they want real users because they want to sell their data for LLM training, but that might mean purging accounts that are "too political" to be of use.

  • It's more common than I was aware for software mascots to have distinct names from their respective products.

I kind of like "Ian". Seems suitably humble for a diminutive little rodent.

Another option might be from the band's own mascot, Snaggletooth.

  • China will absolutely jump on this.

    It's happened before.

  • Enterprise software/services/consulting in a nutshell. It's all just shifting responsibility.

  • Be a good wingman and introduce her to your best lesbian friend?

  • I have some Japanese metal bands in the rotation for just this reason. Metal works in a lot of languages, actually.

  • What's the width like? Consistent with modern rolls, or no?

  • Same. I can't even have understandable lyrics if I'm going to concentrate.

My work playlists are completely different. More cinematic scores, world music, ambient whatever. There is some metal that bridges the gap, but it has to be very death.

  • Toilet paper rolls.

Somehow we settled on a pretty good size for toilet rolls, and there never seems to be a compatibility issue with holders.

At least not for households. Commercial products have their own things going on, but it doesn't affect most people.

Is there a formal standard, or did we decide not to mess with good enough?

  • That's a funny name for an octopus.

  • Regular bullets work just as well, if you happen to fall on one during a quick exit from the upper floor.

  • Yes but the word for books comes from bisexuality, because reading is gay.

  • Similar to that. Nouns that have a somewhat specific meaning in our business context, like Investor, Adviser, Product, Portfolio, etc.

  • This is the accepted writing style at my work, and it's been driving me nuts for years. I'm talking about the copy we put on all our public facing materials. Even our resident linguists hate it, but apparently someone high up thinks it's industry standard.

Remembering this just made me happier to be leaving soon. They're so resistant to challenging entrenched habits. I should have seen these signs when I started.

  • The trick is for those other AIs to reserve a few bucks, so they can repeat the process but this time cash out early. Keep repeating until everybody wins.
