  • Mexican Agriculture Minister Victor Villalobos also participated in the meeting. He suggested that in future Mexican inspectors could take the place of the U.S. personnel who currently handle the checks.

I wonder how much of a kickback Victor gets for looking the other way.

  • Testosterone also increases red blood cell count, so even male endurance athletes have an advantage. Look at Tigst Assefa who holds the women's World record for a marathon at 2:11, she's 120 lbs, the top 5 male marathon runners are all at 120 lbs too and run 10 minutes faster.

  • I wouldn't call it very reckless, Kmag assumed Perez would see him and leave space. While it was Kmag's fault there is some fault that can be placed on Perez, add in it being a 1st lap incident and Kmag missing a race and I can see how the stewards came to that decision.

  • Typical safety margins for weather use 50 or 100 year events. The system that is rated for that weather event has a margin in it. Roofs, for example, are designed to withstand the snow loads for the worst snow storm in 50 years but the truss systems which are rated to handle that load can handle more.

  • It’s because they’ve intentionally made it possible to cheat their system and get away with steroid use, and the trainers and officials are the ones helping the athletes.

The list of 100s of athletes failing tests paints a different picture. USADA performs random testing at random times. Cheaters are going to cheat but the US is not complicit in that cheating. It's a constant arms race cheaters find ways around testing and testers find ways to detect the new methods.
