  • Unrelated to this claim, but I've also noticed really rapid price adjustments of a few cents on products.

It seems like Amazon raises prices frequently based on what's in carts and how many page clicks it gets.

A $6 item changed from $5.95 to $6.05 to $5.98 in a span of an hour.

  • Oh yeah they're still doing their best to infringe on gay rights.

The fortunate part is all those stunts against gay rights that DeSantis pulled didn't work out too well for him at the national level since he already dropped out of the presidential running.

  • Sure you can alter circumstances to an extent and that's probably the best way to live life. But all the good in the world doesn't stop a freak car crash killing you or being struck by lightning. And while being struck by lightning is used synonymously with an act of god, I don't think it actually means you deserved it. That's the issue with the just-cause fallacy. It takes a huge spoonful of selection bias to only notice the people who did deserve it.

In my opinion the idea of karma is a convenient crowd control mechanism to prevent people from taking action to fix their situation when they have faith that the universe will magically balance itself out.

  • I agree that Steam should regulate early access more. The best buyer's policy in my opinion is to only buy games you know you'll enjoy in their current state. Any future features are a bonus.

I had great success that way with Dave the Diver, Subnautica, and Satisfactory.

I've avoided buying Kerbal Space Program 2 despite 400 hrs on the original because it still feels like a cash grab with not enough content yet.

  • Oh yeah definitely still the photographer's fault.

I just wanted to point out their strange implication that sunny days wouldn't produce shadows. It's pretty difficult to take good portraits at peak sunlight.

  • shadows were really bad on the beautiful, clear, sunny day

That part's accurate even though they're acting like it's unreasonable. Direct sunlight creates much worse shadows than an overcast day with diffused lighting.

  • The "expectations" aspect became especially apparent when Tesla was valued higher than the next top 10 auto manufacturers combined.

It was literally that Tesla is new shit that we can bet on. It has nothing to do with Tesla's actual value.

It's also the issue with buying stocks based on a company's performance. If you do that, you're already too late because investors with more information have already bought based on a prediction of that performance (or insider information).

  • It's not about being boring. It's about calling out lazy journalism and this news trend of pretending like anything is changing while no progress actually happens.

This entire article is just saying they got mad and everyone still voted along party lines. That's a whole lot of nothing for such a sensationalist title.

I'm all for calling that out every single time.
