As someone who spent 2 years learning and writing PowerShell for work... It's... Okay. Way easier to make stuff work then bash, and gets really powerful when you make libraries for it. But... I prefer Python and GoLang for building scripts and small apps.
It also depends on what you are looking for content wise. Lemmy the platform does have a ... Interesting... History for sure. On Lemmy.World I have very little patience for misogyny and being shitty twords queer folks. So I guess, "it's complicated" is a unfortunate answer.
NGL Mastodon and BlueSky are where I go to interact with other folks, vs Lemmy which I just get the old Reddit doom scroll from.
Nothing, it's just a touch harder to use? I mean I use it on a old netbook and it works just fine. Did a net install and then loaded LightDM + MATE... Oh ... Yeah, there ya go, not quite as easy as Ubuntu. Still amazing for servers.
Ah, neat. Been wanting to add all my peeps on Flickr to it. I'm curious how their "magic" option works. Also might be able to do neat stuff w their API.
I've looked at other options as well over they years. I just ended up with Inoreader. You get 150 feeds for free and the interface is amazing. Also works with a ton of different apps.
Do you write it for work?
