  • it's so funny to see people on lemmy who fell for cloud connected cameras. you'd think this group would be the last to fall for it, maybe not. i've even received them as gifts (very expensive ones) but i just threw it in the trash because that is better than anyone using it.

  • well i hate to say this (really i do), turning is actually one of the only strong points about the CT. It can do a u-turn in the same-ish radius as a model 3, much better than most vehicles in its class.

that driver was just a fucking moron

  • yeah, you formatted a markdown table. now you're just repeating yourself. Prettier handles that just fine. I have the Prettier VSCode extension and set it as default formatter on save and this gets done automatically for me.

    after:

Didn't require a small lake of water and a gigawatt of electricity to compute.. it even works offline!

  • are you guys all sickly or something? are we all expected to be sick? i work from home but a couple weeks ago all the in office workers got the flu at the same time. but that was still in january.

    help!

  • oh nice! i use Prettier for that and it has worked fine for a decade or so, but it is really lacking any AI so i have been having to search for alternatives.

maybe PrettierAI, it can use LLMs to format all your code!

  • yeah i work in tech (at a bank rn) and the mainframes are hilarious. a constant source of downtime, and insanely overpriced hardware to boot.

literally i can't think of any downtime our services have had in the last six months that wasn't caused by the mainframe's downtime. this is dozens of cases.

but they will basically never be replaced. maybe in 100 years? ha

  • so have i. this is the technology community, after all. for a couple years i worked for a major cruise line and each ship had an AS400 on board. so I'm familiar with mainframes, and sure they are un-removable for a number of reasons. but that statement was stupid
