iirc there was a short time where the apps were published by default once the compatibility layer was in place. i definitely used the feature to make my app work across the whole product line, but there were a couple of things that were broken on macos that i had to put in fixes or workarounds. that might explain why more developers haven't released their ios apps on mac.
ah, thanks for explaining that. if there is an option to join or not join, then the unions would have some incentive to do a good job. but in the usa, that isn't an option, so every union eventually turns corrupt.
I'm sure that was done intentionally, to render unions (worse than) useless.
nassim taleb calls it "over-platonification," expecting everything to meet some platonic ideal. it is absolutely pervasive. this is another great example of it
how would you know ahead of time? mostly (in USA at least) you don’t get a choice. when you join a job if they have a union you have to join, even if its corrupt. how can you prevent them
from becoming corrupt?
i got like a third through it before scrolling to the bottom to see how long it was. omg! should be the canonical example of the opposite of a shitpost ha
the term developer is highly overloaded. in the games industry it can either mean "the company producing the game" or "an individual software developer working on a game." i think more often it is used in the first sense, especially in reporting.
