  • “Elon can’t do and won’t do anything without our approval,” Trump told reporters in the Oval Office on Monday.

Any bets on how long it will be until Elon does something so unpopular that there's blowback on Trump and it becomes "Elon acted on this alone and I had nothing to do with it."

  • The best part is every one of those adjectives is also a hyperlink.

  • Exactly, they were taking reservations at the $40k price for a really long time. I was looking to buy an EV in 2021 and at that price, it was significantly cheaper than anything being sold. I laughed at how fucking ugly the thing was, but it was so cheap that I didn't hesitate to put down a reservation.

Then when it was released, it was like $100k. Ain't no way am I paying that for that piece of shit. And in the meantime, Elon went full on Nazi. I could kind of ignore his dumbfuckery back in 2021 but not now.

  • I am legitimately angry to only be learning this now

  • Took the words right out of my mouth

  • I'm pretty sure that people who say they want to "run the country like a business" just think it sounds good but haven't put 2 braincells worth of thought into it. Businesses exist to make money. Government exists to serve citizens.

Do you want firefighters showing up to your burning house and asking for a credit card before they put out the fire? Or maybe have the post office decide that it's not profitable enough to service entire states? The whole idea is moronic.

  • The FAA is dangerously understaffed as is. The fact that President Musk didn't realize that before trying to purge their ranks just emphasizes how clueless these dumb fucks truly are.

  • Getting your star stolen in MarioParty is probably the leading cause for most of the murders.

  • I remember going out at night then leaving my jeans on my bathroom floor, then in the morning the whole bathroom would smell like an ashtray. It was the worst!

Unfortunately it's still like that at my in-laws houses. Whenever they send our kids birthday or Christmas presents in the mail, we have to air out the packages for a few days.

  • Yeah FAA management is really shitting the bed. The controllers that I know also feel like they are unable to seek professional help for stress and health issues out of fear that they would lose their jobs. It's amazing that there aren't more disasters.

  • Exactly. With that being said, ATC shortages are a serious, serious problem. I'm honestly surprised it hasn't made more headlines, but maybe that will be a silver lining to this crash. Most major ATC facilities are dangerously understaffed with controllers working mandatory overtime. They are not hiring and training people nearly fast enough to account for the amount of controllers that are set to retire.

  • Just had to look this up. Apparently they do. The the magnetron (the electrical element that converts electrical energy into microwave energy) will not maintain the same power levels over time.

  • Any idea what that says at the bottom?

  • It's impressive and also a little bit depressing how accurate that quote is from almost 2,500 years ago. Shows humanity really doesn't change.

  • Just goes to show that while Trump is the face of the problem, he's more of a symptom than the cause. The Republican party is rotten to the core and even if Trump chokes on a Big Mac tomorrow, the problem is not going away.

  • I don't think they'd shut up. I think they'd try to force every other business to do the same!

  • 90s doctors should have been more specific when they told us to eat more greens.

  • Setting aside their creepy praise for Hitler for a minute, the rest of that message is still pretty telling. They seem to think that any protest by educated people is a protest against the United States. They don't understand that it's possible to love your country and recognize when something is unjust and needs to change.

Police kill a black man and people protest? They must hate America.
