Afaik, whenever an Activitypub instance has defederated from another it has always had to do with some combination of bad user behavior, poor moderation, and/or spam.
Nope. It is because the admins of the instance have decided to do so. It might be for the reasons you list, for completely different reasons, or for no reason at all.
The caption is wrong. This is Zuck when you have downloaded the app. The list of permissions includes him going to your house and watching while you take a shower.
This "problem" isn't new or unique to the Fediverse, or even to the Internet. It's much much older. What's to prevent someone from hijacking your name?
Most societies converged to a simple solution: surnames. The Fediverse is not different. "YourHuckleberry" is your username and "@lemmy.world" your usersurname. It is impossible to hijack your name+surname.
BlueSky will use their own protocol, so they will indeed be a closed bubble.
As for Meta, my (totally unjustified) hunch is that they're expecting that other big names like Twitter, BlueSky, Google or Amazon will migrate or create their own ActivityPub services, and they want to be early adopters. If Threads is successful, I could see them migrating Facebook and Instagram too.

/unanarchy Not really. The mods aren't expected to provide analysis and comment of the games (although if you want, you're more than welcome). The idea is more to eliminate spammers and keep the conversations civil if/when the community grows, and maybe organize megathreads for tournaments.
The difference is that most of the people isn't expected to own a mechanical watch, but having a smartphone is pretty much expected. You cannot treat a basic commodity as if it were a luxury item.
